Hmmm... I suppose the Ukrainians will do whatever they wish to do, without anyone, either NATO or Russia, telling them what to do. Ukrainians will do whatever their people wish to, the moment they wish, they way they please.

Last two times someone wanted the Afghans to do this or that, they did what they pleased. What makes you think Ukraine is different? For the sake of precision, what makes you think any country is different to any oher? Russia has its own problems, the problems everyone else has at home these days: inequality, social unrest, demographic problems, environmental problems, organized crime, and so on. War won't solve those problems. It will make them more acute.

It is by your own people's unrest that regimes fall. In Kiev, in Moscow, in Washington, in Beijing, or in Niue.

And yet russis says it is not going to invade.

They will have to do something about the Active ethnic cleansing of the majority russian ethnic population in East Ukraine.

The West helped install the neo nazis in power in Ukraine.

Two Ukraine regions already want to leave Ukraine so we may see another crimea I guess.

Under biden the world is taking a new approach to their balancing acts, nato is weaken because US as is stands today is weaken with the democrats.

Seriously?

Trump spent four years railing against NATO while cutting our contribution to the organization all while getting cozy with Putin. Actions most Trump supporters on here cheered.

And you're going to claim the weakening of NATO is due to the Democrats?

Whatever your trying to say to me, I don’t understand it’s meaning. What is true, is that Russia isn’t going to let anyone occupy Ukraine, russias national security depends on it.

Idk but wasn’t nato formed to stop the Soviet Union/ USSR from attacking Europe like in 1949? Didn’t the USSR collapse awhile back? 🤔

russias national security depends on it.

Explain how is that so. Russia national security depends on its own people not turning against its own corrupted government, as it is the case with any other country on this planet. The enemy is always inside. That's why they supress any opposition, that's why they silence journalists, that's why they prosecute deviant opinion, and that's why there is no democracy there: because they fear their own people.

Nothing to do with Ukraine. At most, it has to do with the Nord Stream gas pipeline, as it crosses Ukraine and hence it is the Ukrainians the ones that can cut gas supply to Germany, a situation the Russian government wishes to change by force.

In the 90's in Florida, there was a quickly growing & large refugee population of Ukrainians, Poles, and Romanians in the area I lived.

The Ukrainian group rubbed most residents the wrong way -- very pro USSR (that and all the GIRLS seemed to know how to do was get into school fist fights every day) If so pro USSR, why the hell didn't they just stick around, or move a little more east & north instead?

It was a question many in town asked, and no Ukrainians ever answered beyond a dismissive mumble.

To say my opinion of them is low, is an understatement. Let's just sit back this time, and let them work that crap out themselves.

Sevastopol Naval Base. It is a key naval base for Russians military capability and it is located in Ukraine. Putin isn’t going to give away one of his few access ways into international waters.

I suspect the CCP is pushing for a war with Russia. The CCP is the one great threat the world faces today. Diplomacy is important here I think. To me, it's China that must be challenged in its ongoing attempt to conquer Taiwan.

Ukraine is very corrupt. For numerous reasons, I think protecting Taiwan from the CCP is far more important.

biden caused this build up through his policies. Trump had issued sanctions against any company that would help build nord stream 2 this shut it down for over a year under Trump. The significance of this is once completed it takes away Ukraines only Trump card. Right now if Russia invades they can destroy the pipeline through Ukraine and effectively shut off russian sales of oil to europe. Ukraine warned the biden admin of this and he still agreed to remove russian sanctions on the new pipeline.

If he didnt have TDS he could realize trump had it right with his sanctions Russia is not going to risk oil sales its only thing that keeps them going. Without that money putin wouldnt last a year in office.

" Ukrainian Soldiers Dismiss Russia Invasion Threat: ‘There Are a Lot of Lies’ "

“[M]ost soldiers don’t believe an invasion is coming,” a female Ukrainian soldier named Iryna told the broadcaster.

“The front line doesn’t feel any different now than before,” she said.

“Another reason they [Ukrainian soldiers] don’t buy these rumors is because there are a lot of lies in our country,” Iryna revealed.

“Everyone in powerful positions lies. Our president promised to end the war within a week of coming to power. Now, two years on, here we are,” she assessed.

Ukraine is Russia's largest supplier of natural gas and fossil energy. It's more about cutting off Russia's supply than taking over another country.
America wouldn't stand for another nation cutting off a vital part of our supply chain without a fight.
Right now the MSM is making Russia the biggest boogieman to worry about, and as usual are only giving half the story.

I laughed at such primitive propaganda for a very long time. Ukraine is an invention of the West, just like the "Ukrainian people". In reality, these are Russia and the Russian people. Putin has repeatedly stated that the Ukrainians are the Russian people, and he will never fight against his people.
If I follow your logic, then Russia, for a start, will start fanning hysteria in the media about the fact that the Saxons want to attack the Bavarians and occupy Bavaria. Therefore, Russia must send troops to Munich. Further on the list of countries - France, Britain, USA .......
The West is now planting a bomb under its own sovereignty and statehood.
And about the Russian troops on the territory of Russia. Biden wants Russia to withdraw troops from its territory? And where to? Whose territory?
How about 800 US military bases around the world?

Ukraine has always been the desired adjunct land that a certain group of people desired to control.

The United States is subservient to that certain group of people and is required to sacrifice their sons and fortune to any cause that benefits that certain group.

Rinse and repeat until permitted to stand down.

WWIII keeps being repeated. Well, it can't happen if we do not participate.

Let my people go.

The Pale of Settlement (Russian: Черта́ осе́длости, chertá osédlosti; Yiddish: דער תּחום-המושבֿ‎, der tchum-ha-moyshev; Hebrew: תְּחוּם הַמּוֹשָב‎, t'ẖum hammosháv) was a western region of the Russian Empire with varying borders that existed from 1791 to 1917 in which permanent residency by Jews was allowed and beyond which Jewish residency, permanent or temporary,[1] was mostly forbidden. Most Jews were still excluded from residency in a number of cities within the Pale as well. A few Jews were allowed to live outside the area, including those with university education, the ennobled, members of the most affluent of the merchant guilds and particular artisans, some military personnel and some services associated with them, including their families, and sometimes their servants.

Is this what you refer to? The Jews lived here pre WW1 in the pale? And they want it back?

Sevastopol is already taken, thus the excuse for a hypothetical invasion is unjustified. On the other hand, Sevastopol is just where the subs and the Russian navy is stationed in order to have access to the Mediterranean Sea, but they still need to cross the Bosphorus Strait. Are they going to invade Bulgaria and Turkey, too?

The importance of Sevastopol is nowdays extremely low. The only advantage of invading Ukraine (in case they would even be able to occupy a couple of villages) would be to take full control of the Nord Stream gas pipelines, but even that is stupid because they now have Nord Stream II, which avoids Belarus and Ukraine. Yet, regulators in Europe have not approved authorizations, and if they do it on Monday, they can equally well cancel the permits on Tuesday. The deal is quite clear in its terms: EU will buy Russian gas if and only if the Russians stop playing the old boring bully-guy game. Nobody in EU will buy gas at the cost of allowing an invasion of Ukraine.

You either trade your goods and make money, or you fight a war. Both things are exclusive.

The West is in no state to even consider fighting a war with anyone. The Governments are all on shaky ground and will be lucky to stay in power during the next year. The ADE is kicking in. If it was a contrived kill or a massive mistake, the end result is still the same. If hostilities break out half the population of the West would be hoping Russia wins. They no longer trust their Governments. Why would the politicians try and stop cheap plentiful Russian Gas to keep their people warm in the coming winter? it will be seen as just another way their governments are trying to kill them off. This is what happens when the rich just keep getting richer, they eat themselves to death. Either way, it is done and dusted. An honest poll of the Ukrainian people would very likely show that they would prefer the stability of the Russian Federation. Much the same as Crimea.Instead of corrupt politicians paid off to be a thorn in Russia's side.

May I respectfully suggest that regardless of the senile old racist idiot in the Whitehouse, it wouldn't be very wise for ANYONE to challenge the U.S. military.

Which even after the latest attempts by democrats, is still perfectly capable of taking on ALL of the world's other military forces AT ONCE.

Democrats HAVE significantly reduced our fighting readiness, and will undoubtedly try to do even more damage, but you'd have to be a really special kind of stupid to directly take us on.

Not hyperbole.

And well understood by ALL world leaders, INCLUDING Putin & CCP.

Our weakness is not in our forces, it is the idiot in the Whitehouse, and the 81 million voter registrations that out him there.
