If Progressives actually storm both chambers and the White House, kill everyone there, burn it to the ground, establish an anonymous zone and say that they are the new government, then that will be spun as not only normal, but necessary.

The few hundred Conservatives within 100 miles of there that post negative opinions on it will be thrown in jail until the end of their natural lives for Domestic Terrorism.

Are you unaware of chaz, or the riots, or the fantastical 'fiery, but peaceful protests' as democrat dominated msm covered it?

It's called a comparison. You know like you were trying to do with this thread. For the protesters today to be comparable to the protesters on January 6th they would need to be storming the Capitol building, chanting "Hang Kamala!"

Because in the heat of the moment as protesters break through barricades and try to force their way into the inner sanctum of the Capitol while chanting "Hang Pence!", people are going to take a moment to analyze a gallows being constructed and determine if it is functional or not.

By the way, as long as it can support the weight of a body there isn't really anything that differentiates a "functional" gallows from a prop one.

This whole thread is a comparison of the two. Thus you and others trying to say the Left are hypocritical for having a demonstration in DC while calling what happened on January 6th an insurrection. The act of having an organized demonstration isn't what some on the Left have called an insurrection. It was the act of storming the Capitol while chanting that they wanted to kill the Vice President.

So until this demonstration today reaches the point where the protesters are storming the Capitol chanting "Hang Kamala!" (like the January 6th protesters stormed the Capitol chanting "Hang Pence!" Get it?) it is completely incompatible to the January 6th riot making the entire point of the OP spurious.

Jan 6th was not and insurrection.

The Capital Hill Seattle occupation was and should have been put down by military force.

If this Defend Democracy protest ends with dead police and the occupation of the Congress buildings to remove and start a new government by an armed rebellion….then it will be an insurrection and should be put down by military force.

The price of insurrection with the inability to sustain it will be the death of that insurrection otherwise it is a 2nd Independence day.

Hundreds, if not thousands of protests occur in DC every year. In fact there was a protest at the Supreme Court just last week.

The protest being discussed in the OP is so minor I don't even see the local news affiliates talking about it.
