Despite the Conservative narrative that schools are pushing this agenda, they're not. Even if they were, it's still not the same thing as conversion therapy.

Conversion therapy is mainly founded in aversion therapy techniques. The "therapist" will first attempt to have the patient associate homosexual behavior with a feeling of nausea. This is usually brought on through the use of drugs.

If that doesn't work, they move on to pain.

When you can show me that there are professionals out there using these techniques to turn people gay, then we can have the conversation about how the law needs to apply to both sides. Right now though it's a one-way street.

By the way, over half the states in the US have laws banning conversion therapy and it seems to me that parents are still allowed to parent. Ontario has also had a law on the books for a while.

The purpose of this law is to protect children from long lasting psychological harm. The fact that so many of you have an issue with that is disturbing.

And yet. If a kid “comes out” they get lots of praise and attention they would not normally get. And if they are athletes, they can declare themselves female when born male. And go on to shatter women’s sporting records.

There are lots of incentives for a kid to play the part.

Here’s an idea. How about we stop stressing out over genitalia. And teach children there is more to life than sex. And this false notion there isn’t physical differences between male and female.

Do I like conversion therapy. No.

But. How about parents reinforcing it’s not appropriate to have sex until your mentally mature.

Where is anyone saying anything different? That doesn't change the fact that sexual identity emerges during childhood.

Also, it did be pointed out that abstinence-only sex education is also a major failure. So while parents should be encouraging their kids to not have sex until they're mentally and emotionally ready, they shouldn't also avoid actually teaching them about sex. That way, when they are ready for sex, they're actually knowledgeable on how to be safe.

I don't think you'll find anyone supporting showing porn to kids and the fact the materials were pulled supports that claim.

Now please explain what that has to do with conversion therapy being psychological and potentially physical torture being employed on children?

It involves ingestion of harmful drugs, psychological damage, genital mutilation and permanent life-long sterility

This law WILL damage children with long lasting psychological and physical harm.

Parent groups are up in arms specifically because it takes those decisions away from them and to "school counselors" and others.


Allowing parents to seek gender dysphoria treatment for their child is the best way to avoid the genital mutilation and drugs leading to life-long sterility pushed by the LGBT lobby.

That's what I said. I said it about parents that let their children "be" the gender they identify with, and aid them in social behavior, appearance, hormone therapy, and the like.
