Health Care definitions in YOUR country... please help.

So I think we could benefit from this.

One of our challenges is that when media says "it looks bad in X country", we have no way of fact checking them without going lengths to dig the data out. For some countries this can be extremely difficult.

One thing I keep seeing mentioned in media is the term "hospitalizations" or "hospital admissions", as a way to emphasize the severity of the situation.
Then once in a while an outspoken chief doctor comes out and says, "we don't have any pressure from covid at the moment...?"

See this is weird. Of course we all know it'a about number joggling. They spin the numbers for most drama.

So what we need to understand and remind eachother of is what those numbers are defined by.

Denmark

Hospitalization: A patient staying longer than 12 hours or is present in the emergency room during "snapshot".

You see the problem here?
What if somone leaves after 12h 15min?
What if 8 people were present in the ER during snapshot but afterwards told "aw, it's going to be fine, go home, drink some hot tea, and call if you can't breath"
Those people are also counted......

So... let's get this defined in as many countries as possible, and remind the media every time they try to headline us with "facts".

In my neck of the woods, patients admitted to the hospital are given a covid test. If it comes back positive, they're listed as a covid patient, even if they're asymptomatic and receiving treatment for something totally unrelated.

Not much can be done to get the media to do some honest reporting; they've become the mouthpiece of politicians. If they try to report the truth, they end up Arkansided. They number of reporters working on exposing government and political corruption stories that commit suicide is pretty astonishing.

In emergency medicine? This is normal for us.

Dying cancer patient...gets covid...= Dying Covid patient....but cancers killing them.....

You seek a rational explanation from bureaucrats involved in a scam for 2 years.

Here in the US, the bureaucrats change definitions as they need to so that the official narrative (a false narrative) can be sustained.

Definitions have become passe here in the US. They call the shots 'vaccines' when they are not. They attribute almost every death to Covid, including people dying in auto and motorcycle accidents. It's right out of Kafka.

This medical tyranny was planned and executed brilliantly. It's criminal, but it's still going on.

Part of it is the monetary pressure. They get bigger reimbursement if the patient dies of COVID over other things. So if they test positive for COVID, even if the COVID is not the medical issue that's killing them, even if they are asymptomatic for it, they are dying of COVID because that's the bigger monetary payout.

It's all according if you want to believe the official figures or not. The majority of posters on ATS deny official figures so your question would be a moot point.
In the UK a person is not counted until they are allocated a bed or waiting for one. Someone could be in the Accident and Emergency area for hours and not be admitted.
In the UK there are approximately 1200 hospitals, so on the 30th November there were 812 people admitted to a hospital. So on average that's less than 1 person per hospital, but some hospitals can have none and some more than 1.
Deaths from the 12th November to the 19th November there were 1,088, that's less than 1 per hospital.
The hospital doctors are speaking the truth, they don't have pressure from Covid. The pressure they are under are 2 fold. Firstly the hospitals have not been seeing any outpatients since the start of this #####, many of them very important.
Secondly the local doctors seem to have gone into hiding so people who would normally go to a doctor surgery are forced to go to the A and E thereby putting vast amounts of pressure on an already pressurised system.
