Thank you for making clear what I had thought when I read your post that inspired this thread. I am grateful for the inspiration and your post here.
So to sum this up:
1) SARS2 Omicron genome looks like it was "separated/frozen" between June 2020 and late summer 2021 -
This has never before been seen in nature, only in lab leaked pandemics
Valentin Bruttel, researching autoimmune medicines
Omicrons (B.1.1.529) most recent common ancestor is AV.1. Relative to this MRCA, Omicron has 25 nonsynonymous and 1 synonymous mutation in Spike, and 13 nonsynonymous and 6 synonymous mutations in the entire rest of the genome. This is very strange & I don't understand.
I have re-done the alignments and counting up of mutations, and it's even weirder than i first said.
34 discontinuous changes (that are likely independent events). only one of them is silent. the rest change amino acid. see attached pictures. to quote @K_G_Andersen this is inconsistent with expectations from standard evolutionary theory.
this is just bonkers. there should be a butt-tonne of other silent passenger mutations hitching a ride with nonsynonymous changes under positive selective pressure. i am not invoking a sinister lab engineering event here, just something important that i do not know.

You're welcome.
Getting more interesting stories about Omicron being lab-leaked and/or man-made.
This one claims that Omicron's genome looks like it was frozen, then thawed.

This doctor says that Omicron mutations could not have happened naturally.

Then this article says scientists in South Africa found a new way to induce a lot more mutations in Covid. January 2021. Plenty of time for Nazi's to copy the man's work and try it themselves.

The Director of the National Institute of Health (NIH) says if OMICRON has disappointed you, as it has him, there may be some really serious variants in the pipeline.

Some South Africa hospital wards are jammed with patients infected with the omicron coronavirus variant as President Cyril Ramaphosa urged South Africans on Monday to get vaccinated.
In the past week, cases have reached more than 16,000, up dramatically from 2,300 last Monday, according to South Africa's National Institute for Communicable Diseases.
The NICD says the increase in cases in such a short period of time is “unprecedented” in the trajectory of the pandemic, now in its fourth phase in the country.
“Unfortunately, we’re seeing a more than doubling of hospital admissions each day,” said Ian Sanne, an infectious diseases specialist who serves on South Africa’s COVID-19 presidential advisory committee.

This information you present has certainly made me more aware of this variant's potential, thanks once again.
However, I'm not sure about the Nazi element in South Africa, but like I posted earlier, if this was man made it makes it highly probable this one was released intentionally. I lean more toward the original Wuhan GOF chimera virus being an accidental release, but from your info, it is looking like Omnicron has been released on purpose to infect, sicken and kill human beings on a global scale. Two of my older brothers believe we are in a covert biological world war, a theory that is becoming more believable as time moves along.

Just wanted you to know that there are still many like me and you that have drilled down to the core of this and have come to the conclusion that this can only be a biological weapon that "got loose". Others, as smart and prepared as they may be, don't have the conspiracy mind set to question what is really going on with all this.
One by one, the residents of San Francisco are becoming drone-like shadows of their former selves. As the phenomenon spreads, two Department of Health workers, Matthew (Sutherland) and Elizabeth (Adams), uncover the horrifying truth: Mysterious pods are cloning humans — and destroying the originals! The unworldly invasion grows stronger with each passing minute, hurling Matthew and Elizabeth into a desperate race to save not only their own lives, but the future of the entire human race.

Well done, it's looking more like a GOF virus based on the others. If this is a man made pathogen, then it shows that the studies have been going full bore without a pause. Also, if true, it is becoming apparent that they are trying to prefect a bio-weapon and that would make it even more convincing that this one was released on purpose, rather than by some accident. This GOF game has gotten completely out of hand and won't stop until the research is banned, all labs destroyed, and the experts doing the research are disappeared along with all their data.
Scientists have recently reported finding a new version of the Omicron coronavirus variant that is more difficult to identify using standard PCR coronavirus testing, leading experts to fear it may be spreading less noticeably around the world.
Scientists have recently reported finding a new version of the Omicron coronavirus variant that is more difficult to identify using standard PCR coronavirus testing, leading experts to fear it may be spreading less noticeably around the world.
The new version has been dubbed "stealth Omicron" by some researchers because it lacks a particular genetic change that allows it to be easily detected in the lab-based COVID-19 tests, according to a report from The Guardian.
Researchers have said that this new version has other genetic features to differentiate itself from the standard Omicron variant. While it can still be detected as Omicron through genomic testing, studies have found that it is not as easily flagged by routine PCR tests that are used around the world to measure how quickly the virus is spreading, according to the news outlet.

"There are two lineages within Omicron, BA.1 and BA.2 differentiated genetically," professor Francois Balloux, director of the University College London Genetics Institute, told The Guardian. "The two lineages may behave differently."
Scientists Discover New Version of Omicron That Is Difficult to Detect From COVID Testing
One major unknown is how the new variant emerged. While it falls under Omicron, it is so genetically distinct that it may qualify as a new “variant of concern” if it spreads rapidly. To have two variants, BA.1 and BA.2, arise in quick succession with shared mutations is “worrying” according to one researcher, and suggests public health surveillance “is missing a big piece of the puzzle”
Scientis ts find ‘stealth’ version of Omicron that may be harder to track
Researchers want to measure Omicron’s ability to evade immune responses and the protection they offer. For instance, a team led by Penny Moore, a virologist at the NICD and the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, is measuring the ability of neutralizing, or virus-blocking, antibodies triggered by previous infection and vaccination to stop Omicron from infecting cells. To test this in the laboratory, her team is making ‘pseudovirus’ particles — an engineered version of HIV that uses SARS-CoV-2’s spike protein to infect cells — that match Omicron, which harbours as many as 32 changes to spike.

By the way, HIV was never natural, it was created sometime before 1978 or 1979 when they gave a news report about how the military developed it in a lab. I read about it in a newspaper article back then. Biological weapons weren't banned until 1984, after AIDS broke out of the lab.

Since it is (apparently) more contagious but has reportedly much milder symptoms, i’d say a natural evolution.
Viruses, like all lifeforms and exist to propagate themselves, over time they gradually adapt to their environment.
A virus is dependent on it’s host as it’s environment and strains with worse symptoms are less likely to propagate than those with milder ones. Simply because the host will seek treatment (or even die) from symptoms which does the virus no good at all. Milder symptoms are much more likely to go untreated or unnoticed.
It's only going to get worse, and worse, in the future. To know we could stop it, but we don't, and we never will, is the saddest thing of all.

A two-shot course of Pfizer Inc.’s vaccine may have just 22.5% efficacy against symptomatic infection with the omicron variant, but can thwart severe disease, according to laboratory experiments in South Africa.
Researchers at the Africa Health Research Institute in Durban issued additional data on a small study released earlier this week from which they made an estimate of the efficacy of the vaccine using modeling.
The research considered blood plasma samples from 12 participants. Scientists found omicron resulted in about a 41-fold reduction in levels of neutralizing antibodies produced by people who had received two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech SE shot, compared with the strain detected in China almost two years ago.
