The censorship, I have just been banned from FB for twenty-four hours for posting, A photo of the dead Mussolini hanging from a gantry with the title "The inevitable end of all tyrants" With an article questioning did this cause Hitler to commit suicide in the bunker. The reason was it was against community standards. They don't like being reminded of reality in their fantasy world. I couldn't really give a #. But it could have reminded a politician of the reality of the path being taken, they always think that they could get away with, it "Power is a heady wine which doth confuse the senses."

My problem with that hope is that I believe we were confronted with an enemy and an evil the intensity and magnitude of which has perhaps never - or at least very, very rarely - manifested itself to humanity.

These ... beings (I choke on calling them "people") - would rather destroy the world in flames add burn in the conflagration than cede or loose. Briefly, there are two reasons for this:

1. They are hardcore, inveterate nihilists. Their vision of the Übermensch will be king of the dunghill of will die and take everyone and everything else out with it in the struggle.
2. They are evil and they know that if the world - that is to say "normal" humankind - ever discovers exactly what they have been up to, it would be pitchforks, tar and feathers, and bonfires for them. If they know that losing means they will burn, they'd just a soon see that you burn along with them.

I'm not saying that it's hopeless, but it would be s long, bloody fight quite literally to the death.

It is true that they have some interesting gadgets. But the higher the tech the less robust it is. A well-placed '22 bullet in a satellite dish In the collector knob finishes it. That's why they want the guns not that they are worried about personal violence, but the fact they can take out infrastructure which is essential to them, How many security cameras can be pot-shotted with a scope?
