Your prayer was answered TEOT , perhaps one in a few months before the telescope deploys may be in order.

Replay of James Webb's launch

It was a long time coming and the journey has just begun but what a great start to the mission.

We can look forward to far more questions than answers, should all that needs to go well does so.

And that's the point, ain't it? Galileo, with his simple telescope, was "baffled" by the changes in the appearance of Saturn's rings over time. How will this tool baffle us?

It's worth every penny. If it all works.

Interesting take there.

Galileo's championing of Copernican heliocentrism (Earth rotating daily and revolving around the sun) was met with opposition from within the Catholic Church and from some astronomers.

Over 15,000 years ago we likely realized there was something different about our sun which inspired the first coronal research.
Fraunhofer lines were named and documented after 1800 AD, but a burning rainbow bridge that reaches between Midgard (Earth) and Asgard, the realm of the gods was attested as Bilröst in the Poetic Edda at least 500 years earlier. And the rainbow could be read as the biblical symbol that split scientific objectivity in western thinking.

Who gets to decide if it worked?
