Something is wrong about the 3 ties with USA China and Taiwan

A report by a US Congressional advisory panel calls for an urgent military buildup in the Indo-Pacific to deter Chinese aggression against Taiwan.

The US-China Economic and Security Review Commission issued its annual report on Wednesday.

The report notes that China has been modernizing its military for nearly 20 years, and is now capable of "air and naval blockade, cyberattacks and missile strikes against Taiwan."

It says the People's Liberation Army of China "either has or is close to achieving an initial capability to invade Taiwan."

The report warns that modernization by the PLA has "shifted the military balance in the Taiwan Strait and dangerously weakened cross-Strait deterrence."

It recommends that Congress authorize funding for the mass deployment of antiship missiles in the Indo-Pacific and the upgrading of defense capabilities at US bases.

The report also points out that China has been putting much effort into boosting its nuclear capabilities, including building hundreds of underground silos for intercontinental ballistic missiles.

It calls on the administration of President Joe Biden to continue modernizing the nuclear capabilities of the US to maintain its lead over China.

They're also far more advanced than we are in the development and use of Hypersonic weapons.

What are hypersonic weapons? They are normally defined as fast, low-flying, and highly maneuverable weapons designed to be too quick and agile for traditional missile defense systems to detect in time.

That is very worrisome.

I thought i was getting a debt letter there with all that red writing.

China wont invade Taiwan because they cant hold it once a carrier force is sent their way.

And if they sink a US carrier via swarm hypersonic missile attack America would be forced to respond with tactical nukes.

Then shortly afterwards world war 3 would materialise as China responds with her ICBM city busters.

Its all just Sabre rattling.

The USA has been developing hypersonic weapons since the turn of the century. China is just more vocal about it.

True. Hypersonic is not some new tech. Been around since the 60's. The issue is it's very unstable. One false move and it will spin out of control. I'm not a physics major but conventional weapons are way more accurate, effective and absolutely cheaper. The Germans had far superior tanks. It didn't matter though because they did not have enough of them to take on 5 inferior tanks. Same with these Chinese missiles. Eventually you run out. Just bomb where they are made and that is that.

The build-up of nuclear capability makes me wonder.

If China can't have Taiwan, would they rather no one have it? It doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility that China would rather vaporize Taiwan than have it continue to stand in defiance if China proves incapable of reclaiming it. With the current state of the Western world, I don't think even that would be enough to rile the West out of its complacence and chaos.

That said I think the US administration would happily just bow down and pull out well before it got to that.
