You know when there is a bunch of people working on something and someone keeps asking, pushing for things to get done in a fast pace, then when enough of this pushing is done it results in things getting messed up, costing everyone money and time. Without going in to the details this just happened to me, not a crazy amount of money was lost, but it is still a lose for everyone, and i cant get those hours back either.

Everyone loses.
The way she goes.

Rant over.

That sucks. Been there and done that too many times.

It's even more frustrating and infuriating when the same people rushing it at the end were dragging their feet in the beginning. Ugh!

Maybe just be glad it's behind you and set your sights on the future. Good luck!

LOL! That reminds me of the meme with a pic of a construction site, with one worker actually working, and a dozen suits all standing around "supervising"!

Slow is smooth. Smooth is fast. Old Army saying. Managing projects and operations is not a flat footed race.

I've been there. For me, it's meant that other projects also in progress get screwed up too.

But management knows best, right? 🙄

Pushing too hard might get the job done but people will quit. Once we had over 50% quit right after the project completed in record time. The accolades from higher was not worth it. It was a disaster zone within a month and impaired us for a year.

Sometimes things get pushed because certain people are promised large bonuses while others are threatened with fines.

For example, promise the framing and sheetrock company a bonus to finish by a certain date. Now you can treat the electricians and plumbers poorly because the have work to do inside those walls. No bonus for them just a penalty if they can't stay ahead of the wall guys.

I've done heavy construction for decades and it seems to be nothing short of organized crime.
