If it is Islamists, it would be an unusual target.

Why a hospital? And why Liverpool?

I don't think Liverpool has ever been targetted before.

Amazing how quickly the police make arrests aint it.

Could it be cuz they were already on a watch list?

Happened in October as well.

After reviewing the video i think it's safe to say that the child locks on those doors stopped that deranged bastard from taking out reception at the very least.

Well done Mr David Perry you done a Mans job and then some.

www.bbc.co.uk...

That's Police confirmed a 4th arrest has been made also.

The intel and police services always seem to know about these terrorists dont they..
Most people who have commited terrorist attacks have been known about, and were being monitored before they attack.

How about this for a radical idea-dont let people who are suspected of having terrorist ideals into the country,or if it is found out after they enter the country, find them and return them to their country of origin.

The ONLY reason the government allow these people to live in our society is that they are somehow useful in pushing a government agenda/fear campaign.
At least it seems that way to me.

They know who these sub humans are-dont let them in and the problem goes away.

-At least the "imported" problem goes away-I know there are some homegrown terrorists that this would not stop, but its a start and would help the general public believe that the government were doing something preventative.

Disclaimer-I welcome anyone of any color or creed who wish to live in Britain in peace, and genuine asylum seekers/war refugees.
The ones who are known to wish us harm, should not be allowe to live here.
Its not rocket science and its not racist.

If I had to guess this is the fault of a knife-owning unvaccinated Brexiter with a private bank account. Best to lockdown some more just to be safe.

Probably best to wait for the facts and evidence to materialise before hazarding an uninformed guess.

Terror alert level in the nation has been raised to "substantial" all the same but nobody is proposing more lockdowns to my knowledge.

Might be. But as this 'bomber' would have given his address that he wanted picking up from...police would have been around there tout suite.
We shall have to wait and see.
Still not named the suspect or any of the other arrestees. Suggesting a much bigger isuue I would say.

The driver was still in the car when the explosion occured.

BBC radio just reporting taxi driver saved mass casualties by closing the doors.

Do you mean by 'locking' the doors?

Oh yeah see where you coming from
Yeah its the door locks alright. Missed that titbit earlier. Got vague memories of terrorists targeting hospitals in Iraq and thta's not the incubators in Kuwait with propaganda from the western MSM. More like post Iraq 2 in the aftermath, memories of terrorists targeting hospitals and killing the people inside. Think they are real memories. This might point to the perpetrators being from Iraq. Or that zone

The rumor is that this was a failed suicide bombing.

A mystery person hailed a cab and wanted to be taken to a war memorial ceremony but the driver got freaked out by something about the passenger so they abandoned the cab and locked them in. The cab then exploded.

They've arrested several people in connection with it, but there is some kind of lockdown going on and they aren't releasing names or pictures of the people, and a lot of the normal details that would be available aren't.

In the UK this usually means that they're from a minority group.

If this were IRA there would be about 100 times more details available.

So you are saying the media has different levels of effort based on who potentially the story may upset? ALmost like an agenda

I find it odd that it is only JUST breaking news here in UK

Perhaps you had a busy weekend but it was on every news outlet all day on sunday from radio to TV, others on ATS posted about it in another thread

Three men arrested under Terrorism Act after one person killed in car explosion

Liverpool Women's Hospital: One dead in car explosion outside hospital originally posted 21 hours ago, sky news and liverpool echo also reported it yesterday as it happened

it would appear to be trying to disrupt remembrance sunday, scumbags

Most likely on a list although it probably takes minutes to find out a lot of information about people these days. Things like shopping lists, official interactions and associates, where they visit on the web etc.

Illegally obtained evidence is a minefield in the UK and most likely will be used against terrorists in a legal manner.

Human rights makes your line of reasoning difficult plus there's the issue of proof. Suspicion isn't enough to take someone to court and falsely press charges, attempting to rush a case to court could end in absolute misery. Think dead informants and cells going dark.

This is why those on the lists sometimes achieve their goal, the police need to gather intel, watch and wait. Suspicion doesn't give the right for prejudice and in all honesty Joe public doesn't usually get the details in regards to actual terrorist associates and their past, there's good reason for this. It's somewhat naive to think they allow non-citizens suspected of terrorist association to enter and leave the UK at will.

Child locks are put on manually when the passenger doors are open. This was probably the central locking system activated in the drivers door. This could be standard taxi driver procedure. When coming to the destination the driver locks the car to stop people running off without paying. This happens a lot in the cities.

Such incidents have occured sadly-Abu Hamza is one-the guy got his hand blown off making bombs for hamas or islamic jihad(I forget which one)THEN came to live in the UK where he was allowed to propogate filth/recruit/brainwash others in finsbury mosque for years..
Pretty sure at least one of the 7/7 bombers was known to have terrorist sympathies/friends before he came to the UK as well.

I get what you are saying though-the cops/mi5 use these guys to collect intel-but its a very risky game as we have seen.

Looks like Boris has upped the threat alert level to "severe" due to the attack in Liverpool:
