Russia is more likely to maneuver in Eastern/Central Europe, and hope that the specter of China and America's corrosion of military readiness gives them the initiative.

So I'm not so much worried about our security.

I am not suggesting that Putin's strategy involves luring the U.S. You could consider the other intervention and failed state that occurred in the region. Which was Libya.

NATO/EU military intervened in Libya had resulted in a safe heaven for human traffickers. If Syria's Assad not in a way i am defending his regime if his regime had fallen. Syria would have being a safe heaven as well for terrorists.

As for Syria think of how much the EU and other countries had spend to back such groups? they supported these groups through armies and finance backing on a smaller level.

Russia & problary China both know that western countries currently have a problem with their Culture. That is with the PC culture. This is embarrassing.
