Freedom of the press. Take the good with the bad. Easiest thing to do is not watch it Or give credit to a media source that you think is corrupt.

I don’t watch the state sponsored media sources known as NBC, ABC, CNN and CBS. That’s not good press. It is largely influenced by one political party making it the opposite of what the press should be which is honest and investigative regardless of what party is in office.

If we want to attack the disinfo and misinfo and banned info, we need to start by repealing the Smith-Mundt Modernization Act of 2012, which allows government propaganda to be fed to the American people via news agencies and elsewhere.

We also need to criminalize "legal" leaks as well as lies by Fed agencies, especially the FBI, NSA, DHS, etc., which give legitimacy to so many bogus stories... such as Trump and Russian collusion.

As long as the Feds are in control, media will be whatever they want it to be which is exactly the opposite of freedom of the press.

We can then take a good hard look at incorporation laws, corporate welfare (of which Big Tech is a major recipient), and otherwise take away the perks and privileges that give them so much power and control over the masses.

My point...people grab info constantly in bits true or not...and many don't watch, read or listen to all the info..

Just come to ATS to spout inferred reality. There is none.

Reality...is the reality. Doesn't have to be true...and America IS media.

Without it...our "realities" are 1/2 truths we expect to be real and vernbatim.....all in 6-10 mins of info, right or wrong.

Any information you want, anything and more, is at your fingertips.

Weather, local news, nation-wide news, international news, sports scores, financial markets, you name it.

Watching news programs to become informed is sort of like going to a restaurant where you don't select your meal off a menu, but you get fed whatever happens to be cooked, or more accurately, the proprietors want you to react a certain way so they serve a prearranged meal to you.

Why patronize media sources that not only choose the news you "consume" (anything they or their paymasters don't want spoken about is simply "left off the menu"), but they are not even pretending that the information you're getting is an open and free sampling of current events, instead of a scripted list of propaganda bullet-points that you're to be quiet, eat and enjoy (yum!).

The media used to be called "the Fourth Estate", an informal acknowledgement as a 4th check & balance against our other 3 branches of government. This is so far from the truth these days it's hard to even imagine what a fair, objective and incisive media looks and acts like. We don't have a "Fourth Estate" any more, we have a series of Pravda outlets to let us know what our masters want us to believe and think.

Since Ive been on ATS and come to know various posters, the loudest leftist voices arent even American. They just want to bash the US by adapting the current democrat and media party line.
