The "American Dream" is not just pertinent to America. After the 2nd world war every global citizen either openly or secretly dreamed to live the excess of the American dream, to travel the world with a camera casually slung across the shoulder oozing success and a relaxed and unhurried attitude, secure in the idea of belonging to the most successful developed nation on earth. But no man is an island and no nation either. America will bear the brunt of disappointment in loss of standard and style of living more than any other society, because they have much more to lose.
It is already starting to change to the Chinese dream.
I’ve seen a lot on social media with new innovative products from China and people all over the world are asking how they can order or get it. I saw a video of young people (Americans) moving to China because it’s the future.
I know people want to keep their heads in the sand, but it’s happening. the last peg will be the monetary system.
That is going to be something to witness… very sad
I
China will never rise to the cultural heights of America. They will never produce the inventiveness, the charisma, the talent and the boldness of America. If they do have the window of opportunity to rise to any height, it will just be to the height of a fancy high tech termite mound. Without any individuality or unique qualities of it's people. That...is very sad. Ant farms are easily flooded.

Not trying to defend China, but I think you don’t know much about China, Chinese people or their culture.

...What is different this time is that we now have an entire generation that is desensitized to genuine threats.....
The difference is many of us feel something is coming, something to be avoided if at all possible. This feeling is compounded by the utter inaction and disbelief of so many people around us who simply do not see it coming or cant acknowledge its existence. Whether its ignorance, cognitive dissonance, or plain and simple stupidity doesn't matter. The end result is, for the first time, some of us now know we cant count on each other when the defecation impacts the rotary oscillator. "That" is the scary part.
there is something unmistakably different about it too.

Nah the lobbyist have our best interest in heart. Getting rid of lobbying or Reforming lobbying with technology to take money out of the equation will not help anything. large amounts of Money and conflict of interest is the best way to make things better for everyone.
We also need to expand term limits in congress. We should allow our congress members to continue voting on what is best for us after they die. Their lobbyist can be our contacts via seance.
I want to live in your Utopia.

Super tech expensive gentrified cities, with lots of houseless people and lots of police. Everyone, even some houseless people, will be way more controlled by the internet than ever before. Tech is going to control the world and nature and humans will be neglected. Humans will be extremely manipulated by the internet/tech.
