Firefighters in Hull were attacked with missiles as they tackled a blaze on a city estate, the fire service has said.
Crews were forced to withdraw after being called to a fire on Gower Road on Sunday evening, according to Humberside Fire and Rescue Service.
Officials said the anti-social behaviour was putting firefighters under "great strain".

www.bbc.co.uk...

This has been happening in many towns and cities around the country.
Okay, it's fireworks time, but this is a regular problem all year round and nationwide. And all emergency services are targetted (Fire, Ambulance, Police).

Is it just the UK, or is this typical youth behaviour from sink estates globally?

Police should be allowed, exceptionally, to shoot any sub humans engaged in hostile behaviour that targets the emergency services.

Not sure what a ‘sink’ estate is, but in some blue inner cities, first responders are attacked by various methods. To the point they have been kept out of some neighborhoods.

A sink estate is a British term used for a council housing estate with high levels of social problems, particularly crime.

Sadly its become the national sport of cretins up and down the land.
There was recently an episode near where I live in North Wales-cretins stole a car,set it on fire just so they could throw rocks and bottles at the fire service when they arrived..

A strange target the fire service-but then its difficult to understand the soup-like mind of a cretin.

These days you can not give a naughty kid a good clip around the ear for doing something they should not do.

No punishment for bad behaviour equals more bad behaviour.

Lord of the Flies.

The first generation whom had the namby pamby treatment and teachers having there hands tied behind there back so that THEY had no respect for there elders are actually the generation these firemen come from.

The following generations have not received any form of discipline in School or mostly at home.

My Generation back in the 70's we all carried pen knives, we NEVER stabbed one another with them they were just a tool boy's had and made thing with like carving a stick to look kind of like a child's imagination of a WW2 rifle for playing war or something.

We NEVER gave cheek to adults - except and only when we wanted a chase and the minute they turned angry we were off like fox's with the hounds after us and that was only when a naughty kid led the rest of us astray leading usually to his parents finding out and giving him a good hiding - in most cases.

Back then the Police did not have to arrest kid's they just gave them a clip around there ear hole and dragged them back to there parents whom usually then gave them another clip around there ear hole.

Society without discipline is Chaos.

Kid's these days are knifing one another and Adults, dealing drugs and acting as couriers in county lines crime and even getting there hands on gun's that have mostly been smuggled into the country.

Bring back corporal punishment and real hard borstal, if they kill someone deliberately with a knife treat them as an adult and sentence them as one.

Part of the problem though is the fact it is not solely the kid's fault, government these days does not invest in our kid's as they should.

Hull is a deprived area with no future for many of these kid's and that affects the homes they come from and there own mentality as greed has robbed there future away from them.

And don't get me wrong there is such a thing as brutalizing children which is corporal punishment (which does not even have to be physical just severe enough to put them in there place and give them fear which they equate to respect for adults) and I am no proponent of brutalization but as the old saying goes horses for courses.

This happens these days almost every year, at one time this kind of behaviour was utterly foreign and would only be seen in northern Ireland during the troubles (And then usually only against the security forces not the firemen or the ambulance crews).

Put the blame were blame is due, Thatcher and every prime minister since.

The problem in a nutshell.

Although opponents would argue that violence breeds violence.

Where I grew up, if you messed with people’s houses you would get shot. If you were lucky, it would be a peppering of rock salt. Now you can burn down entire police stations and neighborhoods.

The article states Missiles.

Like in military or the run of the mill Saturn Missile firework.

And why go after fire crews? The article didn't go into much more other than it is a multiple daily occurrence.

Crazy dangerous for everyone.

Complete and utter despicable act.

And unfortunately happens up and down the island and in every major town and city.

They have nothing to do you see, so they burn things, then fling bottles and bricks, so they can get chassed from the Police and fight with one another.

Sad state of affairs really, i would blame the parents for allowing them free reign, but sadly some of them don't seem to know any better or what there kids are up to.

Its in no way an excuse for there horrendous antics that quite frankly get people hurt or delays much needed help, but this is what happens when the close down all the community centres and allow kids to run around in the dark en mass doing as they please.

You would think they would have learned their lesson from the late 80s early 90s.

Give them something constructive to do and they will stop doing one another never mind crapping on their own doorsteps scarring woman kids and pensioners in the process.

BBC North West reported the same this morning too. Loads of these mousetraps all over NW towns.

There must be something more to it than just spontaneous attacks. Looks pretty organised all over the north

I also believe that the cops should be allowed to kill anyone attacking emergency service people. If a person attacks a fire fighter or ambulance driver going to help people they do not deserve to be ever be able to do it a second time. People who risk their lives to help others should not be attacked by chaotic jerks.

I mentioned a group of non-assimilated people. Define ‘home grown’. Would someone born in the UK, but raised in a sub-culture of unassimilated relatives and friends qualify as home-grown?

It happens every year up here around bonfire night for decades - they're not really organised just local kids being idiots and using drainpipes and fireworks as rocket launchers.

It has nothing to do with the situation - the vast majority of people on the estates and gang members are white british and family the same for generatons. Thatcher closing down most industry in the North caused massive unemployment and poverty and a lot of the sink estates here were built as social experiments to relocate the crime families from Scotland and down South in one place.

Back on the day, they were called low income housing projects.
