The MPS school board voted unanimously to end a 15-year contract with MPD, but the schools are still calling 911
MILWAUKEE —
At the end of the 2020 school year, following protests and a call to cut ties with the Milwaukee Police Department, the school board voted unanimously to end a 15-year contract with MPD, eliminating officers from from patrolling and helping with after school activities. But the schools are still calling 911.
A WISN 12 News records request of calls for service during the first eight weeks of school reveals more than 200 police calls at about a dozen high schools.

Over 200 911 Calls?!!!
Can I be crude here for a minute and say F... MPS? If you don't want Police, then you don't want police!
We are talking about MPS but in reality we are talking about Seattle, Portland, Chicago, Minneapolis, New York etc.

Don't say Defund then say we need help. No Sir Re Bob, you want No po po, you get No po po.
I'm sorry things like this get me riled up because people are always like this.

when schools are making that many calls for police

police are not the problem

it is the absence of the rule of law.

That's the problem. The criminals have won in many cities around the U.S.

They think they’ve won, but they have really lost.

We are going to hear how it’s racist that there are NO police helping these communities soon, just watch!

The reality is that for the most part those people are as much a part of the problem as those actively calling for these ridiculous measures.

This crap didn't happen overnight; it was wheedled in little by little over many years and people who should have known better, well were actually in the damn majority stayed silent, let it slide by.

In Portland, OR, it was the people coming from California and Washington who changed the city. The original Portlanders that haven't fled really no longer have a voice.

Actually Seattle just voted pro police sadly. Seattle is a very white city, and a lot of people didn't vote.

Police should not be on school grounds unless a crime has been committed. That's what was voted for, they didn't vote for no police help ever.

Good for them, they did the right thing.

they want the "police" to fail miserably because they are YOUR police. Your Mayor and City Council assemble a police department, train and equip them, provide authority and rules to serve the community. The Police are literally "YOUR" police. The federal government wants local police to fail so that the public will ask them to create a Federal Police Force.

Don't think so? After Jan 6, Pelosi tasked the "Capital Police" to establish beachheads in major metro areas to look for insurgents. The Capital Police have no authority outside of DC.

Seattle has been majority Caucasian for years, right now 67%. So what's the problem? You're disputing the demographics of Seattle as being diverse?

There was a lot of fakeness with protestors last year. People were out of work and stuck inside so they participated in the protests and movement but it was all for show. It was pretty obvious to those who have felt that way about the police since Rodney King and earlier that people were protesting in person or online for clout.

The only people that would find that sad are criminals or apologists for criminals. The fact is the rising crime rate made the law abiding citizens; of all races, vote against the criminal apologists "defund the police" and "bail reform" madness.

In fact every city that began to enact that defund the police foolishness, are now trying to refund the police; because the inevitable happened; criminals began to run amok over their whole city.
