Like everyone else, India wants its own stealth aircraft. They have been pursuing their own tech for a while, but the Indian defense contracting
system is worse than even our own. They attempted to collaborate with the Russians on the SU-57. That fell apart, almost predictably, when the
Russians kept raising the price. After what happened when the Indians bought their last aircraft carrier from the Russians: it broke down, iirc, en
route from Russia to India! and the the Russians jacked up the price multiple times after the contract was signed and work begun.
Despite issues for the Indians, they seem to have taken a step forward. They have built a flying wing demonstrator - albeit a relatively small one
(4m wingspan) - to start their testing. The aircraft name? Swift.
So far, it appears they have gotten as far as taxi tests. I imagine they are headed to test stability and avionics. I doubt there will be a lot of
work on weapons tests and whatnot. It is possible they will do RCS work.
Some video of the taxi tests:
We will see where the Indians go with it.
Team Rogoway beat me to finding this, so credit to them:
