When I first read about this a couple weeks ago, I had no idea it was scheduled to happen this soon. I guess I just assumed it would be at least a couple months.

Currently T - 9 minutes

If this this explodes in a fire ball, we will all know its fake and that aliens have finally picked up Star Trek transmissions 50+ light years away and Shatner has been taken on an intergalactic press tour.
Lets hope he takes Wrath Of Khan with him, I'm sure the aliens will hand over interstellar space drives for a straight swap!!

KHANNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!

He's going to love the huge weight loss.

It's probably more apt than not, that I have no words for that. It just doesn't need any
Well, none beyond the obligatory "I swear to god, if I see Ashton Kutcher stride in, I'm going to deck somebody."

Edit: Shatner's moved as hell, I'd say he's dumbfounded. That must be one doozy of a view on the way up there, and up there

Very cool experience but I am loving listening to Capt Kirk and his experience. He is just so overwhelmed with emotion that it just puts into perspective a bit about the glory of space and Earth.

I hope Bezos got a stewardess for this flight

But that's from the pilot with Cpt. Pike.

I've always hated the short roller coasters on a busy crowded Saturday at an amusement park, when you have to wait over 2½ hours for a 30 second ride.

I just get the feeling that this type of launch into space would be similarly somewhat disappointing.

It would be like having a little bit of sex with an extremely gorgeous person (far more beautiful than anyone you've ever been with previously) that abruptly ends unexpectedly shortly after it began (and no, not a premature finish, but rather not even close to any finish at all). Yeah, it was briefly amazing, but godamit why did it have to end so soon.
