1 John 4:1 ESV
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.
John 16:13
When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.
Ephesians 6:11-12
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

So there's this theory going around that might make you think about this. personally I don't buy into it, but I'll present it here anyways.
When a person dies, their lifeforce/energy/soul whatever you want to call it, moves on to the next plain of existence. Now some people according to this theory, can move in-between this plain and the next. People who have moved onto the next plain can also come back here and interact with this level on a limited bases. Just like how some people claim to be able to talk to the dead, in this theory, the dead can also come here and interact with us.
Given this story you gave us, it would fall within the guidelines of this theory.
DITCO - Defense Information Technology Contracting Office
DTSW - Defense Telecommunications Service Washington (also DTS-W)
DITCO DTSW acquires and administers telecommunications services for the Department of Defense (DoD) within the National Capital Region (Washington DC). So this is what appears on Caller ID when getting a call from an organization within DoD that uses this Service, similar to when the name of a company or the company switchboard number appears on Caller ID instead of the caller's name or number when being called from some companies.
