When the cone collapsed did you see the huge boulders the initial surge of lava rolled down the slope?
One was absolutely Massive!!!!!

I can’t believe how far that lava has gotten and how much destruction it has already caused since I saw that first little tongue of Lava appear on the crater rim!
This is insane! I hope nobody has died!
You are absolutely right, it looks like it’s raging as fast as the Colorado river in places.

i think that was one of its final coughs. it is now truly linked to the molten tree below it.

That was only a partial collapse of that wall. If the rest of it lets go I imagine it’s going to be an absolute tidal wave coming down that valley! Scroll back and take a look at it.

The lava is over topping the crater again.
The outlet it formed in the collapse is not big enough to allow all the lava to escape, this is far from over!

Open this link in zoom in. www.youtube.com...

That whole outcrop of rock on top of the outflow is beginning to fail and will likely collapse.

Yup, the whole left side collapsed. A whole new chapter of cone building has begun.

Any news on the side of the island that could cause a tsunami? 😟

There does not seem to be indication that a flank collapse is likely.
With everything I’ve read and looked at It’s my personal belief that if such a landslide did occur at some time the wave it may generate would not be the coast killer that many fear.
Locally, maybe but I doubt stuff like Florida getting washed clean is suspect in the extreme……😆
But hey, that’s just my opinion……if such a wave did come I’d be gone, we could not run far enough fast enough.
Stuck in a traffic jam? Yeah…..no.
Steam some Lobstahs, have a party says I and watch the waves roll in, maybe do one last round of body surfing……😎

Holy crap!
Its going completely crazy right now.
The amount of lava being ejected is insane!
Sad to see a huge lava river annihilating what looks like a once beautiful forest on the mountainside.

I thought it was calming down over the last couple of days but oh no.

Must be damned scary for anyone not evacuated.

Thanks for the info 👍🏼
Yes I’d heard a new study has been done saying the tsunami shouldn’t be as devistating as previously predicted. Let's hope it doesn't happen for a long time just in case!
Thanks for the updates.

WOW !!!!! Thank you for posting this. Sometimes I'm glad that I don't have almighty power, or I would take that volcanic strength and flatten the 545 responsible sadists in Washington, destroying America.

Meanwhile, I'm mesmerized and intensely captivated by La Palma's activity. Has anyone seen a video by that La Palma guy who gives vocal updates ? ( I so love his accent and speech )

The Smithsonian channel is running recently made shows on volcano and tsunami desasters. I wonder if they are hinting at something.

I haven’t heard any mention of this eruption on any MSM for days now.

It is a relatively minor eruption. Fuego in Guatemala, Sabancaya in Peru, and Sangay in Ecuador all have ash plumes that are over twice as high as La Palma, yet there is no media coverage for those volcanos.

There are over 20 Volcanoes around the world that are currently erupting and La Palma is on the bottom half as far as intensity.

That said, because it is destroying houses and potentially life threatening as well as the unfounded doom porn of a mega tsunami it is getting media attention.

I think a lot of people first were interested because of the overinflated prediction. They then stayed for the lava flows. It is too bad about the property damage but everywhere has their own perticular desaster potentials. I hope there continues to be no loss of life. Except maybe that rooster.

According to guys who know volcanoes, this is so far not outside the parameters of what normally happens when eruptions occur here, and these eruptions will continue for weeks, so we could be seeing this into November or even December.

The sad thing is that so many people are losing their homes, but thankfully no lives have been lost that we know of.
