Hard to see how we have managed for for almost 2 years since Brexit with no driver shortage, until now.

Reminds me of the joke in La Haine. Bloke jumps off a tall building. As he passes each floor, he says "so far, so good".

We accept the Police and some of them are as corrupt as it comes.

I don't see us having a problem with army personnel only trying to help.

Plus it's not like they are going to be armed to the teeth and setting up checkpoints.

They are there to drive our HGV and assist with the Ambulances.

Simple really.

Also if it kicked off big time in the UK there are not enough Police or army personnel in the land to stop much in any sort of meaningful manner.

They would be overwhelmed in no time sharp considering how underpowered they have become.

I find your comparison of the ineptitude of the current UK government to the inevitable of gravity, quite apt.

Not seen that film however.

Well I feel neatly reassured, thanks to the other British members who have furnished me with non-conspiratorial reasons as to why the forces on our forecourts is no bad thing. I think sometimes my brain gets stuck in a conspiratorial fog, and I end up missing the individual bog-standard trees for the dark & scary woods...

Cheers,

FITO.
