Well, Ted Cruz and Rand Paul are about all we have in the Senate. They aren't perfect but they are not Pelosi or Schumer.

I was doing a little research to satisfy my curiosity. 0.36% of the US population are lawyers; 43% of the members of congress are lawyers. 60% of senate members are lawyers. It seems nearly half of state governors have law degrees.
With lawyers making policy, it's not hard to understand why America is in the shape it is now.
Percentages vary slightly from site to site, so I plan on doing a little deeper dive into the line of investigation.

Some of the jargon being tossed around by well meaning conservatives sounds achingly familiar to the jargon that was spewed by the Weather Underground in the late 60s and early seventies.

en.wikipedia.org... Underground
Seriously ? You are comparing conservatives to Weather Underground? You do know that one of it’s infamous leaders was involved with the Obama regime and was a ghost writer of Obama’s book.... and also that he and Bernardine were in involved in the Kent State riots ....
I’m continually surprised by the rhetoric from people who are avidly anti Trump.
Here is an excerpt from the Proquest database on the activities of Weatherman Underground/SDS radical leftist group... Proquest is a database used extensively for collegiate research.

IEW "Weatherman"-now known as the Weatherman Underground- is a revolutionary organization dedicated to the violent overthrow of established power in the United States through "armed struggle". It is a para-military offshoot of Students for a Democratic Society, which grew out of a faction within SDS. Students for a Democratic Society was founded in 1960. Its "Port Huron Statement" in 1962 called for an alliance of blacks, students, peace groups and liberal organizations and publications, to serve the announced objective of progro•ssivo realignment of the Democratic Party. In June 1963, a SDS document "America and

, forge, f-,hide and deal." The slogan of the pamphlet was "Revolution in our lifetime". Other pages included such statements as: "We will fight Amerikan imperial- ism", "We must weaken America's capacity to wa e wars against our brothers and sisters in the Third World"; and 'Until capitalism i destroyed, we shall fight against any American Army opposed all institutions (like the universities, high schools and corporations) that train men and women to support imperialism.

Mark Rudd and Steve Tappis. The Weatherman paper states: "The goal is the destruction of U.S. inmperialism and the achievement of a classless state: world commu- nism. Winning state power in the U.S. will occur as a result of the military forces of the U.S. overextending themselves around the world and being defeated piecemeal; the struggle within the U.S. will be a vital )art of this process, but when the revolution triumphs in the U.S. it will have been made by the people of the whole world. For socialism to be defined in national terms within so extreme an historically oppres- sor nation as this is only imperialist national chauvinism on the part of the movement." It is noteworthy that the "Weatherman" paper's enunciated philosophy rests on the Maoist theory of the wo

So tell me again how conservatives are anything remotely like Weatherman ????
I’ll look for your answer.

Yes, seriously. Read the OP and the first replies in this thread. It sounds just like the radical left of the sixties and early seventies. You seem to know enough about that period and the group to know the influence they had on politics. That's good. Now try to listen to the absoluteness of those posts and the absoluteness of the radical left of that time.... Take back America for the people. Power to the people. The ends justify the means. If you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem. Start listening to what is being espoused.

The urgency is the same. The total reconfiguration of the national direction. Exactly the same.

Oh no excuse me there is no comparison. I cannot believe this garbage ... didn’t I just read you used to be a Republican somewhere ? I’m thinking you never were .... some people here I just dont believe and you are one of them.
But I suppose in the context of your thinking, the American Revolutionaries were also just the same as a bunch of violent communist armed rioters.
By the way, I have a Revolutionary Patriot in my ancestry, and it’s clear to me you do not understand the difference between that fight for freedom and the violence of communist revolutionaries.
And now I’m done with this conversation.

I know you said you are finished with this conversation, so please feel no obligation to reply to this, but I am not.

Purple is purple and yellow is yellow. Completely different but for one thing. They are both colors. Different pigments, different tints, different hues. But still both are colors.

What little I know about those founding brothers was that they were not united. They fought with each other and struggled to find common ground. Not all of them wanted to be free of the crown. Not all of them just wanted freedom, some of them wanted to be kings in their own right. Some would have been happy to live out their lives in common fashion while others wanted to establish an empire from one end of the continent to the other.

You suggest that ''But I suppose in the context of your thinking, the American Revolutionaries were also just the same as a bunch of violent communist armed rioters.''

Not so. However to believe that all those people who tossed the tea in the harbor were high minded anti-crown revolutionaries is rather gullable to the stories of their revolutionary fervor. I find it likely that among those who tossed that tea that there were any number of yahoos out for a lark. Just like now adays.

Ok Mr. Horus. Now I"m done as well, that is unless......

You worded that perfectly, J1M. It such a gem of a thought or, rather, a smple concept that would be the largest universal change for good for We The People. All of us, on Earth, in humanity.

Of course they're not perfect because they are corrupt politicians. You're choosing lesser of two evils... less corrupted over more corrupted. But it's still corrupted.

Hate to break it to ya but there is NO politician in the higher echelons of government that has the backs of the American people. We are on our own. That is the big "red pill" that everyone need a huge dose of.

Instant info at the click of a button is the main problem....People need time to absorb certain things....instant anything on the internet helps zero. Now everything is so fast everyone gets their panties in a bunch at the same time...pre internet it took awhile to cross the nation. Twitter, and the like are sorry excuse's for actually talking to another person...you know using words & sh&t.

Thank you. I tried to think about lurkers when I right such a statement. They need to think about the process clearly. There is a way out of this. Finding a way to hold these DS actors to the same COTUS as the citizen's is one step. We may have to declare them illegally in power and be done with them.

Man, we are talking a problem so big that the only way to do anything about it is fully collapsing the system and relaunching.

I chose the not corrupted like Ron Paul several times, and voting for non progressive candidates who did what they said or we vote them out next time. That has been hard to do each time in national elections, but I seek them out if I have to vote Libertarian to protest the broken two party system.

The outsider Trump showed us why we need to be rid of the "ruling class" . Trump clearly exposed those who are guilty of taking our will and bending it so as to put them in power permanently. All the time they were saying that the "right wingers" were going to create a totalitarian society. Only the leftist were the ones planning to be at the helm of gov everywhere on Earth and they aren't right wingers. Right wingers want as close to NO government control as possible.

I have to agree with the Furry Texan. It has to be scuttled.

I don't know what you mean by right wingers--if you're talking about citizens or politicians. Right winger politicians work hand in hand with "left wingers" to maintain governmental power and control. It's not about left or right. That is an illusion. It is about power and control and in this country, the power and control goes hand in hand with money, legislation and military might. The Senate and Congress are made up of millionaires. They are part of the elite class that we are not part of. As long as they hold the power and control and hold rigged elections, they don't need your support or mine. This government has become a self-sustaining, independent entity. Independent of any need of its citizens expect for our sweat equity. They sure as hell don't need our input nor do they want it. As is being proven. They will protect each other before they stick their neck out to protect you or me. That's why you can't weed them out. They are very well insulated. You might believe that you'll find a fresh faced newcomer who's going to go to Washington and kick some ass but as you can see, the taste of money and power is a strong aphrodisiac. If you want to stay on Capital Hill you better learn how to roll with the big boys. Find someone who wants to be a politician who can't be bought and sold. You're not going to. People who go into politics do it because they're attracted to wealth and power. That's the draw. Decent ethical moral people don't get very far because they refuse to play dirty.
