Fox News

Ochsner Health will start charging employees $200 per month, or $100 per pay period, if their spouse or partner is unvaccinated. The "spousal COVID vaccine fee" will begin in 2022, and Thomas said it is not a mandate, saying non-employed spouses and domestic partners can select a health plan outside the Ochsner’s offerings.

The fee only applies to domestic partners or spouses, not other dependents such as children, who are covered by the employee’s health insurance.

We live in crazy times... Next will it be the seasonal flu vaccine mandate?

Health and personal liberties have been commoditized and monetized.

What next?

The sky is the limit, buddy!

So, now you don't just need to have your own 'vaccine' passport, but you need to have your spouse's too???

What's next...you need to bring your HS Guidance Couselor's vax passport to work too??? Your dog's??? How about your next door neighbor's??

This is flipping INSANITY!!!

The entitlement is laughable. Employment is a contract, you are agreeing to a relationship with set conditions in exchange for a wage. If you're not prepared for the contract to change that's when you consider a change in industry. That's life.

Entitlement???

That's all fine and good, but since when has it been legal to request credentials of family members as a condition of employment???

And, since when have authorities supported these actions with the law???

Got any Jew's living at your house???????

And if your spouse is like DB and cannot get the vaccine for medical reasons?

When I started reading your comment I was certain you were referring to the overreach of the company (by the definition of entitlement--to be given the title to an estate or property, in this case property is the employee and employee's spouse and the company is acting like they own this property).

Note to everyone. You DO NOT want to work for an employer who sadistically attempts to see how much suffering and inconvenience you'll accept, just for income. To essentially pay you to torture you.

Once the current Covid-19 hype has passed, that employer will attempt to make you miserable in some other way.

Maintaining your personal dignity and self-respect should always be more important than your job.

So today its VERY convenient for some to believe its a-ok for an employer to penalize a worker for spouse or partner vaccine status which set all kinds of precedent.

How about if S.O. has DUI's and speeding tickets does that not indicate an employee at higher risk than others.

Maybe your S.O. has a carry permit, what if your employer decides that's a higher risk.

Maybe your S.O. donates to the wrong political party/cause according to your company.

Maybe your S.O. is found to be a member Antifa/BLM

Maybe you S.O. is member of Supremist group.

Maybe your S.O. is a member of a conspiracy board.

Maybe your S.O. has been clot-shotted and an employer considers your S.O. a danger,

Its an easy refrain to say "just change employment" but I'd wager if this stands then pretty much open season on everything deemed harmful either by fact, opinion or edict.

So now employers feel they have the right to information about people they have never employed or payed a dime to? Is the only reason they aren't including children in this because the vaccine isn't approved for children yet?? Will it soon be... "prove your whole family is vaccinated before we hire you"

Thanks a lot people who support this. We all love you.

I'm not seeing anything that says employment is contingent on this.

i've been expecting this move. it's repulsive. sticking their nose into people's relationships. they have no legal right to that information.

Did you see the title?

...and if they don't pay those fines?? Then what??

ETA - I guess they could get insured elsewhere. Still, seems pretty intrusive to me.

They have to find different health insurance not through their job. So either pay more one way or another. Which is why you can probably bet this will include children once the vaccine is approved for them. Because in the article the hospital said it cost 9 million dollars to treat coronavirus in their employees and whoever else is covered under their health plans. They don't want to pay, so you pay.

It doesn't say they would be terminated, what I think would happen is they drop the spouse from the plan.
