When The Kid Wants a SpiderMan

Hey Guys I'm very new to markers and all that neat stuff but made this for my favorite little guy. You guys see me often being a nasty ass badger so thought maybe you guys would enjoy this and maybe inspire some more spider art from you guys out there.

Spider man is his favorite and he has a Miles Morales on the way soon, that is after I get the venom and carnage finished first

I did this for other peoples kids cause why not, I am a badger after all.

Get them comfy then go dig in the trash muahahahahaha

I kind of do but can't claim I know it well. It is also related to my boy, 2 Xmas's ago he wanted a piano. I got him a good electronic one but i didn't know how to play it. He started getting frustrated with it so I started learning it using synthesia so I could help him when he got stuck. That and using the internet to learn how to read sheet music, thats some boring stuff unless you have plenty of booze.

Also I don’t draw super heroes normally so these are also early attempts in these characters as well so need to learn more about that as well.

I have a vintage 1961 stationary note pad that has a tree printed on the right side in black. The pages used to be white but have yellowed and browned over the years. I intend on making a flip book animation out of it that shows a little girl walking over to the tree and bouncing a ball and while that happens she grows up little by little while at the same time the tree gets more and more leaves. I intend on using a very basic approach to the character models closer to pixel art or stick figureish methods

Later on tonight I will post more images of the hell I went through making spider man step by step and show you what it looked like as a black and white before I added marker.

I’m not really good at any of this so it takes me a lot to put together a single piece. I could also post some of my practice studies learning how to use the markers, I did a bunch of portraits of iron man when I first got them trying to learn how they work and all that

When I started doing digital work the undo button became a drug. I understand how it makes things more efficient in design but also can make me feel unskilled I hit that button so many times. On the contrary I have volumes of sketch books of all of my learning and I can look back to a time I had an idea and failed making it, since I have those as an older man pushing 37 I have a lot of things I could either catch up on or ignore. I don’t do this because I want it to be my job, I do this because I’ve always wanted to and then did other things instead.
