...my life has not really changed at all in the last almost 2 years of this pandemic...

I'm right there with you on that↑ one. Mine really hasn't changed much at all either, but..

1. 2 who had it

2. 1 of them was in Hospital for a couple days.

3. As far as I know, neither have had long term effects.

My eldest son had it in late 2019, just after my youngest son had it, early 2020 my wife had it, all with mild symptoms. Then I had it in Feb. 2020, in hospital 5 days and near died with pneumonia.
I do not know of anybody who has died from it. BUT, from early 2021 I had 3 friends die from cancer because they couldn't get regular chemotherapy because the hospital was locked down with covid. I have another 3 friends with cancer going through hit and miss treatment.
I have an eye problem that has to be monitored at the hospital, I haven't seen the eye specialist for nearly 2 years because the hospital has only just started out patient appointments, I don't know when I will be going, no answer on the phones. God forbid I could go blind in the waiting time.

Only one.
It took a while for the sense of smell to return but I was told it was just like a bad cold....

How many people do you know that have contracted covid-19 in real life?

How many of those people became violently ill, hospitalized or dead?

How many of those have long-lasting effects from their illness with covid-19?

Dozens.

Three. Including my mother.

Three. Including my mother.

So sorry to hear that.

My mother might not survive her next flu, so this has been my regular nightmare for past 18 months.

Much of our lives have been arranged around protecting her, and successfully so far.

I had it, a few people in my office had it. We didn't get it from each other as far as I can remember. We were all remote. No deaths but I didn't taste Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. Took me 6 months from last October to smell and taste again. That was the worst part for me. The three days of being sick and in pain, bad dreams was nothing compared to loss of taste. Very frustrating.

I...along w many health workers...had this really weird flu in April-May 2019 (way before they "knew what it was" here.

Damn near killed me, dropping 90 lbs. Kept it off 2. 👍

Both vax, plus booster(response circuit priority)...and am blessed. Wife too.

Best to you...MS

PS kicked me healthy-sick into retiring at 67...but now...all's well...stellar tests after surg
