Technically true when only examining it through ye olde paradigmes.

However, it becomes exceptionally difficult to push a population into a corner when they are self-sufficient.

This grows in direct proportion to the level of self-sufficiency and exponentially in relation to the level of coordinated decentralization.

Fair enough. I do have hope even though my last sentence sounded very defeatist, but attitudes are going to have to change, and that level of self-sufficiency and de-centralization will need to grow "exponentially" in order to emerge from this with anything resembling "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness".

in the poll I quoted in the OP, can you point out where anyone offered the limp wristed "democratic socialism" definition? the question was asked of capitalism and socialism.

It's my position that those who think they like socialism, haven't a clue what it entails or how it ends up. History has done a nice job of keeping track of how each experiment turned out.

They're big fat chicken # pussies, and that's why, we'll win in the end. If we WERE willing to stoop to their level, we would end up exactly where they want us just getting there in a different direction. So it is precisely BECAUSE we won't stoop to their level and that we are not big fat chicken # pussies that we will win in the end.

I agree completely, and would even further and state that attitudes and actions need to change. In the latter, I dont believe many are aware of any alternative options whatsoever, or are operating from a framework of understanding that hasnt been accurate for at least a decade. Operating entirely in the political and media driven sphere, essentially waiting for them to fix everything or waiting for permission from corporations and bureaucracies to just build things differently here and now.

Its the true embracing of personal responsibility in our own lives instead of mere calls for it online (frequently as a reactionary response to where individuals perceive it to be lacking). In that, I believe we need to turn that gaze inward and examine what is truly possible with the tools we have available to us. Tools that are almost entirely independent of the typical approaches, which include actions like constantly commenting on the media article of the day/week or even talking about more extreme measures (riots, insurrections, etc.). None of which will have any beneficial results, in my opinion, due to the nature of the situation.

Anyone who hasnt taken the steps to achieve perpetual self-sufficiency in their own lives, and has the means/ability to do so (a metric that has changed dramatically in just the past 10 years), are likely the product of anything from intentionally & relentlessly manufactured items of focus (items to support or reject, like "socialism," "antifa," "capitalism," etc) to simple ignorance. For many on every "side," that process has been turned into a habit with an accompanying (literal) addiction.

Every repuppetcan seems to forget this pandemic happened under Trumps watch. The first one in 100 years. People knew he was bad news, they just didn't know how bad. They kept saying his administration was the Trump Pence (Trumpets) of the bible. I mean, they were more right than they thought haha now there is only hatred & lockdowns left.

I'm not even sure where to start with this. I suppose I'll offer the LOL right off the bat. Follow it up with a bless your heart.

Not sure if you know this, but Trump isn't president anymore, and although the virus did emerge during his watch, he didn't do it, Fauci did. So there is that.

But this thread is about socialism and the little kids who don't know enough about the world seem to be in favor of it. Do you have any opinion on the OP, or is that above your thought process?

Thanks for pointing it out. I totally missed on that one.

I'd ask "what do we do about it?" but the answer is a long one.

Offer all progressive liberals a vacation on Mars.(one way and they have to furnish their own way back)
About 80% would be overjoyed.

Situation resolved .

Why would you want to mess up the only other reachable planet that present day humans might be able to make livable? Send them to the Sun, the level of contamination will be much less that way.

That's basically where they are headed if they keep following the ruler of this world.

Trump & Apple both love doing business in China. Socialism makes people really rich. Trump isn't a lil' kid & Apple is very rich. Well, it could be socialism or just it's because they use kids as slaves in China, but either way, the socialistic country makes people rich. Even repuppetcan Trump supporters wouldn't say Trump using Chinas child slavery & socialism is bad because that is halfway how he got his Trump Empire.

I also know someone who works for an employee owned company & they have some of the best benefits around, amazing retirement plans & great pay.

Socialism is what is making China the best economically inclined country on earth, or child slavery, it's a toss up. Of course they are in debt too because money is only real if their is debt involved. No country on earth is not in debt because there just isn't enough imagination right now to create a system where money will become real yet. Almost there with virtual currency though.

I am not saying I agree or disagree with socialism but like anything it has it's benefits & disadvantages. Socialism is needed with democracy, always has been, always will be, but not as a complete socialism country, no. Someone needs to be socialistic in order for other to get really rich though or elites like Trump wouldn't have close to as much money as they do.

& before the pandemic people predicted Trumps presidency would have horrible consquences. No one person is responsible, he didn't create it ha that was a weird thing for you to say but it did happen under his watch. People keep thinking that we are going to need boosters forever. So if Trumo gets reelected, do you suppose he is going to say get the booster if you want? even though you'll probably die from not getting one anymore? I don't think he is that dumb. Repuppetcans can be sometimes though from what I have seen.

Disclaimer, I don't vote. Like Trump said, it's all a rigged. That is how he got elected, how he lost the election & how he will might get elected again. Just a rigged game of lies & peoples manipulation. I mean when you say you could shoot someone in the middle of times square & not lose any supporters & you actually don't lose supporters for saying that & get more supporters, it is hard to best that type of radicalization.
