Most of you here will have seen Bladerunner and the rise of synthetics, do you see a resemblance in todays society? In todays Dystopian World? Is the vaccine going to make people very compliant with Authority? Will the Vaccine turn ordinary people into Synthetics/AI's/Robots?

"RUR stands for Rossum's Universal Robots, Rossum being a pun on the Czech word rozum, or "reason", and Robota meaning "serfdom". Rossum's robots are more akin to the replicants in Bladerunner than to C-3PO or WALL-E: bioengineered artificial humans, almost indistinguishable from the real thing, who do most of the world's labour so that their masters can enjoy a post-work utopia. Inevitably, the plan goes awry. Humans grow lazy and infertile while the robots plot genocidal revolution. "We have made machines, not people, the measure of the human order," Čapek later wrote, "but this is not the machines' fault, it is ours."

Just something to ponder...

do you see a resemblance in todays society?

I see the early beginnings of a Bladerunner type future but I don't think it will be fully realised this Century.

Is the vaccine going to make people very compliant with Authority?

The people who are compliant with Authority now are the same as those who were compliant before COVID and the Vaccine those who push against it the same.

Will the Vaccine turn ordinary people into Synthetics/AI's/Robots?

No.

The future for Humanity looks bleak , it seems our Planet hates us nearly as much as we hate each other and the growth of authoritarian style government in countries that claim to be Democracies is a concern for the ordinary citizen with no choice but to obey the ever expanding rules and laws or face the consequences , technology rather than empowering us is being used to enslave us.

Those of us old enough to remember the freedoms of the past are the lucky ones , my sympathy is with the young.

You are so right.

People have allowed themselves to believe what they are told, and to ignore what they see.

When people are blind to the truth, and what they see, while vehemently believing and trusting, only what is visually/virtually presented, they have enslaved themselves to those that project the shadows on the wall.

Many have given up their freedoms believing they will lose them if the don't. They think by doing so, they will be allowed the freedoms that they have relinguished to the government's control. Freedoms which will be given and taken away as rewards or punishment, at the control of the government.

The America of freedoms and liberties is gone. The people gave up their liberties. They were defeated by a well utilized weapon of fear. Fear, the weapon that killed the home of the brave.

Fear is a very powerful tool. The fear of death for some, is so great they will do anything. It is not a new thing. People once sacrificed their children to idols, out of fear of death, from that which they believed could be appeased.

The is one true constant, we are all going to die. I understand people that fear dying. The unknown intensifies the fear for some. I don't want to die, yet. I don't fear it, but I am not ready to embrace it, yet.

But when life stops being about living, and becomes just about staying alive, the fear of death will become less than the fear of not waking up.

What I used to fear, I have come to accept. Like so many others, I too have succumbed to the inevitable. I will die on this hill, even if it does nothing to change what is to come.

It is not my last act of defiance, it will be my last act of staying true to what I believe. It is not a give me liberty or give me death stance. It is a life worth living is worth dying for stance.

I am old and tired. Taking the long walk is starting to have a certain appeal. Just, not quite, yet.

The future is looking more like it was predicted long ago than I expected to ever see in my lifetime. So, countries around the world are either actually trying to fulfill Bible prophecy for some reason,or they can't help themselves.Guess if the Russians, Iranians and allies decide to take on Israel it'll be on.

What if we're the replicants from a Bladerunner past where we were left to our own devises?

Maybe Eden was a corporate testing facility?

There are two ways to become "elite" that come to mind.

The first is to raise oneself above everyone else.

The other way is to lower everyone else . . .

People are lazy and would probably choose the later over the former.

Then again I thought Pris was hot . . . Something about punk girls.

Oh lord, I miss the punk girls... a rare sight these days.

I also miss when dark second hand clothing and tats meant a certain free spirit and were not a trend.

I suppose it's not unlike the last generations missing the jitterbug and bathtub gin.
