Russian father who killed his daughter's rapist released from custody

In Russia, they have a very negative attitude towards pedophile rapists. Only 2 days ago, a pedophile was arrested in Kuzbass, who raped and killed two 10-year-old girls. The entire Russian public demanded the return of the death penalty for such criminals.

Against this backdrop, the Daily Mail published an important article. I support many comments under it.

A Russian father who killed his friend after allegedly finding footage of him raping his eight-year-old girl has been released from custody amid calls not to charge him with murder.

Factory worker Vyacheslav M, 34, was drinking with his friend Oleg Sviridov, 32, when he allegedly saw video of his daughter being abused on Sviridov's phone.

Vyacheslav immediately confronted Sviridov who fled, but he was eventually tracked down by the distraught father who stabbed him to death.

The killer has now been freed from jail and put under house arrest for two months pending an investigation.

Normally suspected killers would not be freed but there has been an outpouring of public support for the father, including from prominent journalists on Russia's tightly-controlled broadcast news.

Law enforcement say that Sviridov's phone contained more footage of him abusing other children in Vintai village in Russia's southwestern Samara region.

He shouldn't have spent one minute in jail. He did what should be done with all of the pedophiles. Hunt them down.

I have an idea, but I'm not claiming it's a good one. It's just an idea to throw out there to generate some discussion so don't bite my head off!

We obviously can't have people going around exacting vigilante justice (our society won't stand for it) on a broad level.

However, in cases like this, where massive public sentiment is favorable for those that do, I believe there should still be a trial. Hear me out.

What if in cases like this (not sure of the determining factor) we posthumously try the victim (the person killed in this case, the pedo)? If the State finds that the sentence would have been ultimately death for the raping of multiple kids, then the person who killed him (the Dad in this case) only did the State a favor.

If he was NOT found to be guilty and sentenced to death (the pedo) then the Dad would obviously face something like manslaughter 1 or some other relevant charge.

Thoughts?

An eye for an eye..

Wholly rational and well thought out. Keeps things a bit more…realistic.

Because even if there is a death penalty we can’t circumvent the process of law to get that point. Death in due time to help avoid death by lynch mob of the innocent In the court of public opinions.

Yes he should be charged with murder, and jailed accordingly.

End of day he overstepped his boundaries- if the abuser killed his daughter then I'd be all for not charging the father as its an eye for an eye in that case.

If it was my daughter I would kidnap and drug the abuser, amputate his genitals, his hands, big toes and his tongue- allow him to heal so I know he will live in his new state and then release him to ponder his new existence wholly satisfied with myself that he could never repeat his disgusting behaviour or be able to talk or write about it.

I can't say anything other than that any decent father would probably have done the same.

The man for no crime is already serving a life time sentence, that of losing his daughter and after seeing the crime recorded and unable to help her while she was suffering his mind must be a living hell, how many times did he die in himself and wish he could take his child's place feeling as if he has let her down and failed as a father, none of us can know his grief.

No one can judge this man, he is our conscience and he did right it was not murder it was to put a monster out of this world, to stop a diseased creature from harming other people, putting other fathers and mothers through what he is going through.

I completely approve and applaud his actions. I do also realize the toll that killing someone can take on his soul/wellbeing and I hate that part for him.

I do not embrace self justice.

However, exceptions solidify the rule.

And that rules is null and void when an adult harms helpless children. Hurt the children by intent, loose that above right. Because children are the future and if you're harming them, the future is not for you.

Why not? Why can't we have people going around exacting vigilante justice. You can't trust the "justice" system to do it. Police are corrupt, politicians are corrupt. The problem arises when innocent people are publicly convicted and subsequently killed.

I didn't forget anything.......he needs his eyes to see in the mirror what the enraged father (in this case me) did to him as punishment for what he did to my daughter.

Death is to good for these animals.....they must live in suffering beyond contemplation.

Preventing other children from being raped and scarred for life this man deserves the pay of police and judges who should have been doing this work.

The reason these things are done is time and time again people see the justice system let them down. If they're prosecuted either found not guilty or found guilty and given extremely light sentences (the rape gangs in the UK are a prime example) it negates the whole premise of justice.
If it was any of my relatives I would do exactly the same and if it was my friends I would help them to achieve what they wanted.
