Weird things are going on in science.

A Purdue professor studies "heterosexual phosphorene waveguide."

A Cornell dean reviews "heterosexual design of solid electrolyte interphase."

I read the article until it said this:

If you consider not just the titles but the full texts of the articles you find more pornography. Like "mutual attraction of heterosexual charges", "heterosexual structure of carbon", or "heterosexual photonic crystal."

I just can't continue reading this PORNOGRAPHY. 😂

I can't even click through to the links for fear of losing what little intelligence i have left if I read this.

How do you link your air hose to your compressor? Male to female?

Apply that principle to different, say, ions with an electrostatic attraction to each other and there you go.

Pipe fittings, electrical connectors, bolts and nuts, hose connectors, etc... We are surrounded by heterosexual porn terms for explaining how things fit together, male and female. And then there is the hermaphrodite divider.

Yes. Heterosexual is attracted to opposite sex. Opposite charges attract each other. This is why a synonymyzer could replace "opposite" with "heterosexual."

I leave it as an exercise for you to figure out the difference with male/female connectors.

Lmao.

This is standard technical vernacular.

Male to female, positive to negative, neutral coupler, etc...

Still funny though.

No, it is not. And you could easily check it yourself. It is also obvious from the linked article.

If you sincerely believe this is the culprit you should post your thoughts on PubPeer: pubpeer.com...

I hadn't heard it in the vernacular before, although it's quite easy to work out.

Academics tend to play with words to make themselves sound above the rest of us. Always have done. Just smile and let them play by themselves.

But not those academics who are in Engineering departments. The linked article states

If you consider not just the titles but the full texts of the articles you find more pornography. Like "mutual attraction of heterosexual charges", "heterosexual structure of carbon", or "heterosexual photonic crystal." I found 18 such articles.

Were it established terminology there would be more than 18 cases.

It's definitely not politically correct, but in the engineering world, people will sometimes refer to a coupler of any sort that has two female ends as a 'lesbian connector', for example. I'll let you work out the other possibilities. They're certainly not terms that belong in a scientific paper, but we in the industry do know what they mean. (and a layperson can easily work it out)

Please work out other possibilities yourself and tell us. Do not explain me lesbian adapter. Explain

"heterosexual electrode," "heterosexual phosphorene," "mutual attraction of heterosexual charges", "heterosexual structure of carbon", and "heterosexual photonic crystal."

I was assuming that they were using it in the sense of having a male and female end or opposite poles/charges or whatever.

Why are you assuming anything like that? There were only 18 weird uses of the word "heterosexual" in technical literature. So sounds like they are errors. Whatever is their origin.

Will you also find a meaning in this title?

Thanks, "opposite charge" is the right statement.
