Who’ll be paying the bounties?

A state that doesn’t have money for it’s power grid but has money to pay snitches. How is that possible?

And, where are they gonna get the money to pay for all the new orphans? Serious question.

Don’t believe in abortions DON’T GET ONE. It really is that simple.

Want to kill babies late term, move to another state, it really is that simple.

No one is on about killing babies in a late term pregnancy.

6 weeks is too early for a ban and the people who designed this law know this.

This is all about the control of women by men.

And conservatives only care until it's born.

how exactly is it that you know what conservatives (all of them) care about?

Lolololol

Responses like this are precious.

Ummm...
If a women is in the 47th trimester of pregnancy, don't you think that something should be done to terminate the pregnancy and free the poor kids from the prison the womb has become to him? A c-section, something???

Wow, puss response. You act like people are having abortions for fun and giggles. I don’t know anyone who’s had a late term abortion and you act like it’s happening every minute and with every abortion like a puss. Disgusting.

Don’t believe in God so not worried about any of that crap. Are you?

Am I? # YEA I'm worried. If I get preggo, I have some serious issues that will change my life. I can't be tied down now, not will all this fun ahead of me. never mind that I'm a dude, I just don't need another kid right now. But I did just speak to God and he said he's still fine even if you don't believe in him. he said, he loves you, but you should try not to be so abrasive, it makes you look like a sky screamer.

I'm going to go get some protection, I heard a quick dose of Ivermectin will keep the babies away for a small period of time. Gotta run to the Tractor Supply.

I'm not a doctor, so I can't say. But if you wish to kill the kid, it's cool. It's murder, but it's cool.

Ya, it is pretty obvious you ain't a doctor.
Don't worry though any doctor that let a pregnancy go even five trimesters without terminating it by c-section or inducing labor would probably have killed both the mother and baby with their inaction..

What does the bible say again...
Something like.
.take your rebellious child out to the city gates and stone them??

I'm confused by the term '5th trimester' do you have any links for it? I was always taught three trimesters but the science may have progressed since then.

it's a good bit before the 47th trimester, but largely just based on time. No worries, if you no longer want the kid, just off him. Poof! Easy Peasey, lemon squeezy. I do think the 47th trimester should be the limit. We have to draw a line somewhere. Right Dawnstar?

did she abort? I hope not. By my math, that is a little past the 47th. I'd hate to have precedent on this, it's much better to just leave it theoretical.

Well, I was into my 4th trimester with my first child. I was asked if I wanted to terminate the pregnancy when I was in t huh exbeginning of my ninth month by inducing labor but there was no sign of any stress on the baby or me, we were just doing fine i decided to wait out. I was 10 months pregnant when the little guy decided that he had waited long enough for my body to get into gear and managed to to break the water and they had to induce the labor.
What network dude is referring to as a 47th trimester abortion would be killing a 10 year old living and breathing , probably running and playing kid. Either that or removing something similar to that calcified fetus that snookie mentioned.

Here is a semi serious question. I never went into labor with any of my three pregnancies. Even after my water broke. Guess I have a lazy body or something. But, they had to induce labor.
So, what if it is known before birth that the fetus will die minutes after being born, never really grows or moves around enough to be a threat to the water sac and mom just doesn't go into labor? They can't induce labor without killing the fetus, that is an abortion.. so, how long should the women have to put up with being pregnant?

I used to think Texas was the best American state.
Cowboys, country music, guns, pick up trucks...A place where men can be men and women like them that way...

Now though?
Nah, it's a mess.
Government peeking into bedroom windows wanting a say in what people do.
Nosy grassing pillocks trying to snitch on people for looking after their own bodies.

Texas is a mess, too much government, too many snitches, too much bible bashing.

It is a joke of a place and somewhere I would never now wish to travel to and spend money.

Texas yesterday was a product of conservative values and ethics. Texas today is the result of two decades of being Californicated. Democrats simply cant stand a red state doing well. The abandon the state they just destroyed with their failed policies and infect states that are doing well. The problem is, as soon as they get there they start invading local politics and bringing in the same failed policies that made them leave the last state they ruined.

This law in its present form is a step in a process. If you bring moderation to a fight with extremists you will lose every time. Extremism must be met with equal extremism. Once the two sides have stalled, negotiation can begin. This law had to start this far right so that after the eventual bargaining and give and take happens it will be where it should have been all along - toward the middle where normal people live.

Of course, it will only last a short time before democrats decide its time to be more extreme than last time. That is the true problem with progressive liberalism - it must constantly out-do the last version of itself or it ceases to be either progressive or liberal. The left is, and will always be, on a march further left regardless of how left they already are. That is why the extremists of yesteryear are the moderate left of today. They didn't move to the middle, the left moved further away. Just imagine how bad this will be when todays extremists are considered moderate by comparison to the next generation of leftist extremists...

As I said before, it's not my business what a person decides to do in that regard. I don't know the situation, or the things that led up to the pregnancy. I feel it's murder regardless, and seeing the miracle of Birth first hand several times only solidified that for me. I do believe in God, and if I was involved in a decision to terminate a life, I feel like I would still hold that same opinion. I'm not going to get personal on why I feel this way more than I have, but the choices you make are yours, and between you and God. If you can honestly say you wouldn't regret answering for that moment should you find yourself in front of the Creator, then you must be OK with the decision. The sad part is, once done, you can't take it back. It's death forever. Life is way too beautiful to destroy it on purpose. (IMHO)

you seem to be describing Newton's third law. I'd say you are spot on. it's a shame the idiots moving to Texas aren't smart enough to realize the simple truth you just wrote. When enough of them get there, and screw it up too, they will move to another state to ruin. There doesn't seem to be a fix for stupid.

You all have guns and stuff, cant you just fight it out and the winner makes the rules?

Honestly, this is all a huge mess but I do appreciate your explanation, it actually does make some sense put that way.

Wait until businesses that purposely watch the women of Texas, to see what they are up to, start up.

A business could make a lot of money following women around to see if they are breaking this law, and then file suit to get the $10,000, if they do. If you could simply find 10 women a year to turn in, you could make a six figure salary.

Not too mention your neighbors watching you constantly to see if you are "showing".

Great fun is coming women. Good luck!

I'm looking forward to what will happen to the first idiot who files one of these lawsuits. The media will out him/her, then the social media world will dox the jackass, and then the death threats and endless family harassments will rip that person's life to shreds. I doubt that that first litigant will even make it to court.

Then, once that cherry has been popped, I wouldn't give a bent penny for the future prospects of the next jerk looking to cash in on this "opportunity".

I think that it's funny that the hard right thinks that they're the only people capable of malevolence and full-on mayhem when pushed to the limit. With this Texas law, I guess we'll get a chance to see just how wild it can get when the religious right finally gets to impose its will onto the majority. Ever see a three-legged dog? That's one that finally caught the car.

The article I was just reading had it
A medical emergency that endangers the LIFE of the mother.

Ok then you got the protection you claimed didnt exist.. so whats the problem?

Alot can happen during a pregnancy before it becomes a medical emergency that is endangering the life of the mother. Alot of pain, alot of suffering, and damage.

MAYBE.... key word MAYBE happen... so lets KILL an unborn child on a maybe? ok since you claim this BACK UP WITH PROOF the percentage of this "harming the mother" example happens in average births . now be careful. there a difference between LIFE THREATENING and just painful

Women have survived only to be permanently blind, or on dialysis the rest of their lives.

sigh.. ok EXACTLY HOW OFTEN does this happen... FACTS PLEASE not emotional rant... btw there is ZERO guarantee in life everything everytime will go well...

Heck, those oh so precious religious freedoms have permitted some hospitals to prolong the suffering of women having miscarriages till sepsis is present and endangering their lives.

AGAIN PROOF of how often this happens . BTW if it does happen (sadly) was there legal repercussions because of it? if so then the doctor WHO BROKE THE LAW was punished.. or more to the point.. SHOW ME HOW this is systemic or a VERY FEW doctors doing wrong

And the sick thing about that is that they knew the baby would be lost from the start.

yet again PROOF.. i see a trend of throwing out emotional "what if" but no substance

So now, all the hospitals in tx are required by law to run as if they have the same religious view as these hospitals

sigh... again "protection of innocent life" is not just a "religious thing".. by your logic we should not have "murder" laws because murder is a religious principle right?

... to wait around till the problem festers to the point where it will kill the women if they don't react?

agian RANTING with no factual backup.. again SHOW ME PROOF this will be a systemic thing under the law

No, just no.

sigh

again an emotional charged rant with NO PROOF..
again "what if" with NO FACTS to back it up that it is a systemic thing vs (sadly) random situations.

again show how the law would have these things happen UNDER THE WORDING OF THE LAW... not a "but but but" argument.

Have you been watching Family Guy? Because Stewie thinks that being inside Lois' womb was a prison and tried to kill Lois for trapping him there.
