Did IDA turn out to be just another hurricane?

CNN stooge just said, "IDA was everything we told you it would be...and more!"

That tells me it was just another hurricane in the long history of hurricanes.

Not exactly. 150 mph at landfall, widespread damage and flooding. Just because New Orleans missed the worst and it's levees held does not make it any less intense. Fortunately the storm was relatively compact which help limit the surge and area of extreme winds.

Ida will be another "I" storm to be retired. "I" storms are the most retired and now we are running out of English, Spanish and French "I" names to replace them.

The flooding and tornado outbreak in the Northeast from Ida will not be forgotten anytime soon.

This was bad enough along the coast, I can't remember a tropical system that caused extreme damage over such a large area.
