Attack IMMANENT - British intelligence - Advising people to get away from Kabul airport.

Just watched this vid posted an hour ago.

Armed forces Minister says there is an immanent threat to the airport and anyone trying to get there.

Advises people to evacuate the area with immediate effect. This is not good, and I am genuinely anxious for these poor people

What's the word on the ground from the American intelligence? I assume the same?

I'm not sure but keen to understand.

From what I heard on the news today, US intelligence, including CIA, in Afghanistan left the country weeks ago. US embasy processing people out and US military both within the Kadul airport are the only presence in operation. Everyone else has left or is trying to leave.

Why leave the Humvees and other gear to the enemy in the open the way they did? they sell it to the other markets.

They had planned to leave it for that other Afghan military. The one we had been working with all these years. Also some was stockpiled in case we needed it later.

Those plans changed and we are now in this situation.

They do have plans to get all US equipment out of the airport or destroy it in place.

I wonder how "imminent"? This max-alert has been ongoing for 14 hours now.

I hope whatever/whoever it is, will be quickly identified and disarmed.

Otherwise, we'll get one of these max-alerts every day until August 31st, causing thousands to be needlessly left behind.

Nope. Just re-branded to refresh the ISIS idea and prep for the ramp up to the next fear level with the idea being to bring about total covid compliance due to a renewed domestic terror threat.

Seriously though, this has to be such a mess. Imagine it being so bad that after bribing and sneaking your way to the airport and successfully getting literally to the gates, there is such a cluster of non-security that rather than let you in, they tell you your best bet is to go back and try your luck amongst the Taliban.

Despondent can't begin to describe what these people are going through.
