Hi all.
As you all know, we have entered dark times. I wanted to share a beautiful story with you all. With all you beautiful God loving people and anyone else who is willing to receive this wonderful message. Regardless of your colour, race, religion or beliefs this story can and will help us all. Especially if we all follow the wonderful instructions that are detailed in the video by an amazing king. I will provide a link below. Its about a wonderful biblical tale of an amazing and very faithful King named Jehoshaphat. Maybe some of you know of him but I am certain most of you will not. It's a story of restoration and fantastic faith when faced with very a challenging evil enemy. It also serves as a reminder of what we must individually and collectively do, to help us all in these unbelievable of times. Against our own dark enemy. The story provided is in a short children's animated movie and will give us all strength in these dark times.
In these days, it may feel as though evil has become so strong in this world and the odds are stacked so high against us all, and we have no where to turn. But it is in these times indeed our prayers are needed. Watch this wonderful story as it will most definitely restore hope for us all. And let us do as the great King Jehoshaphat teaches us by way of his action and deeds of the past when he was confronted with challenging times to. Together we are very strong. For God is on our side. Enjoy this short, but very sweet film.

I'm not god loving, so I guess I am not beautiful.
Same with the so called v axx. If I don't take it, I don't belong to the club.
Why is it that what is happening in the world right now reminds me of religion far too much?
Division of believers an non believers, fear of made up consequences like hell or covid if non compliant

I am not part of either. I appreciate you are trying something nice here but you are merely replacing one cabal with the same cabal.

We will get through this by allowing free speech and opposing views, they are only silenced because they tell the truth.

Meaning more people have to wake up and stand up and say 'no' to being psychologically manipulated.

Be free from it and enjoy being an individual. Get knowledge fir yourself and don't rely on any so called authority.

It's not scary if you have the right tools. Tools being knowledge. Eat the Apple and say no to vaxx and lockdowns.

That's the only way we get through and it will feel awesome.

Isn't it possible for God be the blame for all this mess?

I mean if he was more specific with his rules, half of this crap might not be happening.

If he wants everyone to worship him and follow his rules, why would he be so ambiguous about it???? Surely something this important should be as clear as possible with no room for interpretation? it would have been a better idea than writing down just 10 things.

What about though shall not rape or though shall not sell humans, especially children!

What about denouncing slavery? 👆 That's what this essentially is. Exodus and invictus covers this in the old testament, and this is from the new testament :

Ephesians 6:5: “Bondservants, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would Christ.” Paul convinced the fugitive slave Onesimus to return to his master Philemon, who was a Christian prominent enough to host a house church. We must all face the grim reality that texts like these have been used to justify even the vilest forms of slavery, such as that which was common in the American South before the Civil War.

Until he makes himself completely clear, there will always be death from religion.

When you pray next, could you ask him to stop giving innocent pure children terminal diseases please? And also ask him to stop them from being tortured, sold, raped and mutilated please?

Only if the above things are cleared up, will I entertain the idea of taking to an all loving God.

I know this is a very harsh response, because you are only trying to be kind, which is a nice sentiment!

But imo advocating God does more good than harm.

Sorry.
With respect
FA

Should God force people to worship Him, do you want that? Is that love?
Slavery is wrong, the bible is very clear, but God does not force His rules on people?
Paul is talking to christians in the bible, Paul is not addressing non believers.

It’s not harsh, they are questions, the greatest men in the Old Testament questioned God, even in the New, questioning God is not frowned upon.

Remember, Christians fought against slavery

And remember Spartacus and the slave rebellion, 10 of thousands dead, if Jesus condemned slavery a slave revolt would have had people complaining Jesus started a war

Tough crowd.

The northern kingdom of Israel did not a single good king who God approved of.

OTOH, the southern kingdom of Judah had seven good kings, and lasted longer before exile. Jehoshaphat was one of them. Such men are rare, but without them, nations fall.

The new and old testament advocate slavery, especially the old testament.

There are millions and millions of Christians still following the old testament to the letter, this is a problem because God has never rectified the mistake? In the old testament God says its OK to beat your slave, as long as he/she doesn't die within a few days. This still stands as the word of God, do you not see this as an issue?

Christians also used the bible to support slavery. I remember reading about it in Frederick Douglass' book.

Good morning ATS!

I'm going to go out on a limb here... Religion is to faith as science is to doubt. I recently read that - likely on these boards.

Anyways, God does not want us to "follow rules" and forcibly worship Him. "I followed the rules God! NOW YOU OWE ME! Sorry brethren, it doesn't work like that. It is His Grace and gift, not duty.

He tests us in SO MANY ways - but always for the greater aim of our spiritual growth and salvation. Our faith should be from the HEART rather than simply following some formula to grant us access to Heaven when we die.

Sure, horrible things happen in life. God allows it to happen if it means there is the potential for someone to glorify Him and put their faith in Him that things will work out.

Well the Old Testament is a for Jews not Christians so I guess that’s on them millions and millions, not God
It wasn’t a mistake either, God doesn’t outlaw things because He is God, He allows mankind freedom.
You want to blame God for your decisions, that’s all.

The New Testament accepts slavery for reasons I identified, slave rebellions turn into wars. Christians are called to love, love even slaves.

I get it, ignore what I say, I get it

I took the time to respond because I try to wake sleepy people up, and thisis a forum where I can respond to whatever I like
I seem to have hit the nail on the head though. You don't want me to tell my side because my side might make you think and that would be dreadful.
Just like the vaxx ers don't want anyone to dirty their little enclaves with truths.
You would love it if you could ban me from this thread right?

How inclusive and open minded. Just what I was talking about.

Do you think jesus would be this divisive?

Also calling my post rude, when you make a distinction between believers and unbelievers right from the start is quite rude too.

So yes, I'm here on this thread. Reading and maybe responding, deal with it. If you are so sure of your belief and it all makes sense, you won't have any problems refuting my posts with logic and commin sense, right?

Yeah I read that as well, Christians using the bible to stop gay marriage, go to war, slavery, burn witches and others, the list of evil caused by Christians is nearly endless but
Jesus told christians to love, doesn’t matter what some Christians do, Jesus taught His followers to love others.

As for those who claim Jesus and fail on loving others, it’s going to be tough on them

Most people cherry pick from that book worst than most. Not a single person living follows "the word" to a T. For example it's a sin to wear mixed fabric. Not joking. That doesnt touch the pro violence, anti women's rights and incest.
I'm all for people having faith. I think a lot of the world's issues has to do with lack of faith(in ones self). I'm all for people following whatever religion tickles their fancy. But, at the end of the day it boils down to this.

Yes times suck right now. The have sucked worse, they have sucked less. But it is the worst time to be alive for this iteration of humanity. The only thing that is going to save us is ourselves. Not some magic diety, not orange man, certainly not kid sniffer or leg spreader. It's up to US(you me and every other individual) and has to be done with and out of love. If we don't things will just keep piling on top of this s*it sandwich we call the 21st century.

Your claim that religion isn't the answer and that mankind is capable of fixing our own problems with knowledge is just your version of wishful thinking. The Bible has proven to us that corrupt mankind always finds a way to use knowledge to commit evils that humans can't always overcome. In summary, humans are going to lose the battle and God is going to win the war. That's part of the reason we face human death in the first place.

Dude, that's twisted." Sure, horrible things happen in life. God allows it to happen if it means there is the potential for someone to glorify Him and put their faith in Him that things will work out."
That's something a psychopath or sociopath would do and or say. I'm sure nutters have said just that before wiping out a village or opposing religion. Not saying you in particular OP. Just that quote freaks me out.
I couldnt follow a faith that would allow untold tragedy so that someone can "glorify" his works. Twisted.

Ha, so can I. I'm a pagan of sorts. Sometimes I opt for no cloth at all. Lol yes those are Jewish law. But as a Christian they are supposed to be following them. It's in the bible gotta follow it. Just like the Catholics that only go to church on Sunday, holidays and eat fish Friday's. Then call it good. They are ignoring the whole bevy of other holy days where one isnt supposed to eat this or that or do this or that. Confession should be daily. As is a crap ton of other things.
And forgive me, my post wasnt directed at you in particular. In my area I see a lot of fake Christians. And was thinking about that the other day. And how no one of any religion that I can think of REALLY follows the minutia of their chosen faiths.
