And im sitting here thinking we need to expand education and push students more to keep up with our international "rivals".

Its crazy how far apart people can be in viewpoint.

Remember when we used to be the 2nd highest educated country, next to only China? That was back in the 80's when I was a kid. Today, our education is floating around at the bottom beside third world countries.

Look, before folks get all get their panties in a ruffle (oops, to late for that), let's go examine some sauce.

RT does what it can to make sure information it leads with always make it turrible.

Gov. Kate Brown signed a law to allow Oregon students to graduate without proving they can write or do math. She doesn’t want to talk about it..

Now. Please, read the actual piece.

This is what the gov said as a cop-out

Boyle said in an emailed statement that suspending the reading, writing and math proficiency requirements while the state develops new graduation standards will benefit “Oregon’s Black, Latino, Latina, Latinx, Indigenous, Asian, Pacific Islander, Tribal, and students of color.” “Leaders from those communities have advocated time and again for equitable graduation standards, along with expanded learning opportunities and supports,” Boyle wrote.
.

Why is that important? Because this...

Lawmakers and the governor did not pass any major expansion of learning opportunities or supports for Black, Indigenous and students of color during this year’s legislative session.
.

That is important. The actual original newspaper, the source of the bs RT article, critically inserted that into their reporting. They know what the Gov is bull%%%% and a cop-out.

RT is the one framing it in a manner that has alls ya'll gnashing of the teeth so to speak.

Also, Demographics for Oregon. You think the Oregon is doing that for 2.2% of population?

Im not sure you made the connection. Or i missed it.

I don't know what you're not getting.

That these standardized exit exams reflect Common Core?
That Republicans have been saying since its inception that Common Core lowers the bar for all students?
That Republicans have been pushing for public high schools to focus more on the needs of employers than on farming kids off to "liberal" colleges where they learn liberal values?

That this bill doesn't eliminate the reading, writing and mathematic requirements to graduate high school, by temporarily suspended exit exams?

I think the left is proving that white people are superior to blacks. I think that is the intended consequence and has been all along.

The left gives them a grievance and they run with it. Poverty, crime and injustice in the inner cities of America are a direct result of socialist policies of the last half century or more. All of this perpetrated by the left. Its like Chicago. They have a genocide on their hands and they blame guns instead of blaming the last 60 years of left wing policies. Now they have a community of genocidal sub humans running around killing each other.

White privilege is a term invented to make blacks feel better about their inability to live as a community among the civilized. There is no such thing as white privilege. There is civilized and uncivilized.

To the point of the article, the less educated a community is, the less civilized they will be. Every inner city in America proves that point.

White privilege is a complete crock of the proverbial.

However, this statement sounds as if you are implying that black people are all incapable of living in a 'community' and are not civilized?

Accusations of white privilege and repudiations of it are not an excuse for racist slurs and insinuations.

None of the people you're arguing with seem to have the basic reading or critical thinking skills to understand what you're saying, it seems.

I will be dammed if I don't play the game by the rules set up by the race hustlers. In other words, hate the game, not the player. Every inner city in America is a cesspool of poverty, crime and death. Calling it like I see it..

It's an argument for Communism.

"Some people are privileged", therefore, "we need the government to redistribute all the wealth".

Race is just a red herring.

We don't want to see it, but we've entered a second Cold War. This time it is China, and in many ways they're more powerful than the Soviet Union ever was, because we gave them the money to fight us with.

Think how many Americans fully betrayed and sold out their own country, for the Soviets.

Nailed it.

It's more important for Dems to indoctrinate the students that white people are racist than to have the students be able to read write and do math. Think about that.

The worst part of that is that this has been going on for a long time already. They used to do be subtle about but now it has gone on for so long that they have become as bolt which is the only reason why these angry parents are only now noticing and i fear that it is to late. They already ruined at least 2 generations. One of those is teaching now.

Floyd Mayweather can't read, and doesn't have too...he Rich. Even his momma said that he only needs to box.

You don't hear this # in other countries. Nikola Tesla, the name sake of the now multi billion company, was dirt poor in his golden years an was given government assistance for his contribution.

Then again, I was told not to let school get in the way of an education. Lots of time, kids should be thrown to pack of wolves, an understand the value of an education, family, an the dollar.

Ridiculous.

ANY student unable to do those basic tasks should be set aside for early entry into the workforce, no more education and no advanced education unless you pay for it out of your own pocket. Wasting tax payer money on perpetual and habitual underachievers is ridiculous.

Affirmative action...lowering standards in one category at a time 🙄

How much time is wasted on students who don't want to learn/don't want to be there compared to those who do want to be there? I don't care what their excuse is. IF an individual can't keep up, leave them behind. Stop dumbing down the rest of the group to keep up with a few low hanging fruit. Cut them loose.

Umm, to answer your question, yes, I feel most African Americans can't live among the civilized. That is not to say all. Look at Obama, he did pretty good making his way to the top of the food chain. Yes, the truth is most inner cities are waste lands of self imposed poverty and uncivilized African Americans. If they dropped the African and stopped being a door step for the left wing masters, maybe they could evolve.

Answered?

In college, they take those same kids and provide them with "easy A" classes that will lead to a degree in some form of liberal arts.

Gotta figure a person who came out of one of those course studies with a degree that they can wear as a badge for the rest of their life is going to think of school as being just a way to get a badge.

Why would they want to tie that badge to anything functional? They would be at a disadvantage if function were brought into the equation. They never learned any useful skills themselves on the way to getting their badge.
