The "rapture" wasn't even a thing in Christian theology into maybe the 1800s. The elect have never been removed from tribulation, but have received grace to endure. Getting magically spirited away is a lazy pipe dream.

How will the government (of which I assume will still be fully functioning after the rapture) explain a few missing and/or dead people?

That fits inline with my beliefs of UFO's (not actual life in the universe) may be fallen angels trying to recreate the nephilim

I've read it. I agree. BTW, does your interpretation of Gilgamesh lead you to think of in-vitro cloning? If I'm not mistaken, the gold was for their atmosphere. Carbon tax credits anyone? .

If the adamu (humans) are shorter and conservative, and the nephilim are giant and intelligent and more liberal and violent. Why so we see ourselves as a taller form of human and the ultra-consertive but less intelligent neanderthal as the shorter ones? What are we adamu or nephilim? This had bothered me in the past.

Check out Hilton Hotema. He writes extensively on this.
Mans Higher Consciousness and dozens of other highly recommended books he wrote.
Krist = Crism Oil. It rides up two candlesticks aka spine back into Heaven ( your head ).
It's literally all in your mind.

And many Christians believe the rapture is nonsense, dreams from a child’s mind
What if it’s not true, will your faith fail?
Re 20:11 ¶ And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
