Gonna be hard for Belgians to enjoy a fine bar of Côte d’Or with the heat going up ... melts in your hand and not in your mouth.

Rising temperatures probably won't be good for the mussels

Consumption of Stella Artois will probably go up
, but the fruitier beers may take a hit as they are better in cool weather.

Did Flanders get hit with any of the recent flooding?

Cheers

If you watch closely, they "politicians", aren't interested in fixing anything. The more issues out there, the better suited they are to look after them. Keep electing them, and they will keep watching the problems, and let you know how much you need to fear them, and send in some money. That became obvious when Trump took office and started fixing things. He didn't know the game or the players. That's why he had to go. Too stupid to know that you don't fix things, or they won't need you anymore.

I don't care much for beer, but the chocolate might be problem! lol

Only the parts of Flanders that have rivers go through them had some minor flooding when the water came down, most of it was in Walloon .

Thanks for the note re: Flanders.

Been a long time since I enjoyed the atmosphere in the Grote Markt.

Stay safe and healthy.

Reminder that the end of 2020 was the deadline to do anything about it, so worrying about it at this point is pointless:

BBC

One of the understated headlines in last year's IPCC report was that global emissions of carbon dioxide must peak by 2020 to keep the planet below 1.5C.

We're past the point of no return already.

Unless they were lying.

Hint: They were lying.

I have not read even 1/4th of the report yet

When you come across that part that scientifically proves humans are causing this, let me know please. I've read a lot of climate alarmist material, from reports, to studies, to articles, and I've yet to see anyone actually prove this.

Who needs proof ?
If Al Gore said it , it must be true , right ?

The subject of MMGW is about as silly goose as it gets .

interesting observations. here is the thing, i am also in Asia, and this summer was COOLER than last summer. in fact the last really hot summer was a few years back. a summer so hot and dry that large cracks formed in the ground as the soil dried out so much. it was also over a year and a half (ending pretty much with the start of the pandemic ironically), since we had a water shortage. these things just seem to happen in cycles. some years are hotter, some years are cooler. some years are drier, some years have much more rain. and there are smaller cycles, within bigger cycles of weather. and likely still even bigger weather cycles lasting hundreds of years or longer. such as with all the complaining about a "drought" in places like California, where the reality is that they have actually had a few decades of more than "normal" rainfall, and they now appear to be back to the "old normal" rainfall.

the big problem with weather the last several years is short memory spans, with many people barely able to remember anything past the last 24 hour news cycle. like people going on about how there was cold and snow during Easter, and how "abnormal" that was. yet when i was a kid, it as actually rare for it to be mild, with no snow in that same area. or how people go on about how the "temperature is rising due to climate change" with temperatures nearing 40C in the summer. something that "never happened" before, yet as a teen we had plenty of days where the temperature was 40C (something that had great effect on me as i worked outdoors at the time). something these silly "dangerous high heat alerts" they started doing, as well as starting to name normal winter storms has greatly helped helped to reinforce, with how "bad" things are getting.

as for this so called "dangerous heat", the real issue is not that it is getting hotter. the issue really is the overuse of air conditioning is making people unable to be able to handle the heat. today it is rare for cars, homes, and businesses to not have air conditioning, where when i was young it was rare to actually have air conditioning in cars, homes, and businesses. it really makes me grimace when people are going on about how 100+ year old schools NEED to get air conditioning, as kids and teachers are passing out from "the heat". yet for almost 100 years, those very same buildings were fine, in the same temperatures, without air conditioning. the only difference being the now use of air conditioning everywhere. if you are in air conditioned places, where the temperature is set at 20C most of the time, of course you will find temperatures in the mid 30's too hot, because you are USED TO those artificial cold temperatures. it's all about the temperatures you are used to. just like in the fall, when the temperature drops to 10C, we used to be cold. yet in the spring when the temperature would go up to 10C, we would be taking our coats off. or like the silly idiots that try to make everyone bring in their dogs when the temperature goes over 20C now, "because it's TOO hot", and dangerous to dogs. yet when the temperature DROPS to 26C, you will find my dog curled up trying to stay warm and shivering from "the cold". because she, just like the dogs i had before, are used to the heat.

as for the scare porn about "rising oceans", they have been rising ever since the last ice age. which has been what, a couple or so thousand years now? as all that inland, fresh water has been continually draining into the oceans all that time. in fact during ww2 the japanese had a nasty "cell" they kept american POWs in. being built right by the ocean, it continually flooded during the tides. making it dangerous to the POWs, not just from drowning, but from sickness caused by being wet and cold from the constant water. yet when built, about 400 years before, that "cell", was the powder magazine. a place where just dampness, forget about actual constant flooding, would have been a major no, no.

Global warming is an earth natural cycle and is going to happen regardless anybody think they will be doing to fix it.

But meanwhile the profits behind the global warming will keep growing, sadly they will get burned or drawned, once earth go back to the time when we were a lot hotter that we are now and volcanoes were all active.

Only another ice age can help earth and we still will die.

Plain and simple, time for the vermin call humans to be erased from the face of the earth.

I was at the beach just today, throwing pebbles into the sea and thinking about rising sea levels, then I suddenly stopped and thought "this isn't helping" 😐

Only an hour ago you were blaming China, now you say humans didn't cause it?

oh I see, it's only the money and the taxes that made you so mad earlier... well, don't worry about your money because when we go over that 2 degrees celcius, your money won't be good for anything.

How many countries have navies? The US is pushing climate change is the biggest threat to the USA?

And there is no commitment to use naval operations to clean the oceans?

Makes too much sense doesn't it... kind of like instead of 3 billionaires playing Astronaut why doesn't one of them tackle the garbage patch. Guess there aren't any 400 billion dollar governmental contracts for that is there.

Ummm...why not instead tell China...India...Vietnam...etc...to not throw their plastic in the rivers...and therefore it wouldn't end up in the ocean...

Stopping the pollution at it's source is by far the better idea than turning aircraft carriers into garbage scows...

This excusing the developing nation status is a wrong headed approach to curtailing pollution...and needs to cease...

Those..."developing"...nations are predominantly responsible for the majority of pollutants in the world today...

So talk to them...maybe we could turn all those surface combat ships China is pumping out...into garbage scows...being as they're responsible for a huge portion of the pollution...

Win...Win...

Ummm...would that be..."Anthropogenic Global Warming"..."Man Made Global Warming"..."Global warming"..."Climate Change"...or..."The Weather"...

One can hardly keep up with all the identifier changes by the AGM church of scientology...

Sermon says...

In FCD's defense...he was describing pollutants coming from China...

But...you knew that already...

There are sea level rise maps for every part of the world available, I suggest you check one.

Due to the innate physics of a liquid, you should need only one. Many climate alarmists tend to confuse subsidence and erosion with sea level rise. People seem to have forgotten that less than 50 years ago scientists were considering spreading soot over the arctic to melt the ice and negate the coming ice age.

You'll probably enjoy this:

50 years of failed eco-pocalyptic predictions

Fun list. Needs to be updated with all the failed "by 2020" predictions like this:
Glacier National Park removing 'gone by 2020 signs' because it's 2020 and the glaciers are still there
