Amputations are a very real side affect for many of those infected and hospitalized with covid-19, including long haulers. It's far more likely that covid-19 and not the vaccine was the cause here. Also, it appears that she was not yet fully vaccinated.

Data? Nope, haven't done or read any studies. Just remember the dozens and dozens of news stories I've read over the past 18 months about covid amputations and also what I've been told by more than a few friends in the medical field, a couple of orthopedists and more than a few RNs, some of whom are family.

It's out there. Try a search. And of course not all of the stories made the news, but the docs know.

Amputation has been one of the consequences of covid all along due to blood clots and multisystem inflammatory syndrome, not the vaccine.

From all indications it seems to keep people out of the hospital better than the alternatives.

But yeah, Delta seems to be a real bitch as far as transmission goes. Hard to tell what overall effect the vaccines have on that, as yet.
