Price tag for new flagship royal yacht could hit £250m

What the Royals , the politicians and the rich need right now is a big boat to show the World just how great we are , probably the Royal yacht Britannia 2.0 will make the world gaze open mouthed at our absolute greatness.

A government document published last week put the budget at £150m, while reports said it could reach £200m.

£200 Million , a reasonable price to display our total greatness !

But Ben Wallace has now given "a firm price" for the "floating embassy" of between £200m and £250m

So the cost has risen £50 Million in a week !
But that is a firm price so that's the price we'll pay ... right ?

The defence secretary added: "Subject to working through bids, competition and technology, I aim to commission the ship for between £200m and £250m on a firm price.

"The competition will run until the end of October. I hope to announce the winners in December."

That'll be a nice £500 Million Christmas present for someone , I doubt they'll have any connection to the Tories.

Unfortunately we just keep electing ours.

Not including running costs.

Still might make a good tourist attraction in 50 years time.

I am sure each and everyone one of us subjects will feel very uplifted and euphoric to have contributed to such a worthy cause.
I just cross my fingers and hope that the costs spiral and we all get to pay more of our taxes for their fancy new boat.
There is certainly nothing else I would rather my tax was spent on,I wish I paid more tax so they could have a more expensive boat.

Line up the royals,Boris Bunter,that little # Gove etc and lets take them out to the middle of the North Sea in the nice new boat.
Then we'll play a game called 'walk the plank',what a day that would be.Rule Brittania and all that.

When Charles becomes king you'll WANT him on that yacht and kept at sea. Away from cameras and unable to do any real damage.
