Delta variant 1,000x more viral load than previous variants, but cases have fallen off the cliff in the past few days
Here is the good news from the UK :

Even with this surge of new cases, there's no need to panic. Does this graph warrant mandate shots? :

coronavirus.data.gov.uk...

And let's be grateful for this drop in numbers over the weekend, without a lockdown. I agree this is "very encouraging": coronavirus.data.gov.uk...

The "life cycle" of any successful virus is to attenuate or weaken so that it can still spread but won't kill the host.

If it kills the host, it cannot spread so the successful mutations are actually weaker versions of the virus.

Basically, we're pissing ourselves over a cold virus now.

Exactly...

I know I keep on for saying for more perspective.

the UK hasn't had 50 persons die a day since April and it's down in the single digits for the last 6 weeks

And sadly?

People used to die from complications from the cold virus. The elderly and immune compromised especially.

And covid is a coronavirus.

Completely agree that covid response and lockdowns has been out of proportion.

Why is the rest of the world waking up and the US silent?
They weaponized the seasonal flu with fear.

From my experience it wasn't 'just a cold', it felt more like a mild flu. But, I can't speak for everyone.

Others are right tho, as this virus spreads, weaker it gets, it may as well be at endemic 'cold' status at this point.

And I’ve had some colds that felt like a hard flu.

I keep hearing the media shout about the Rise in Delta variant infections .

But I don't believe I've heard them once mention a rise in Deaths .

So apparently the new standard for Lock downs and panic is simply being infected with a do nothing virus , they really are getting desperate at this point.

I wonder as this Virus Mutates is it becoming weaker ?

Who is waking up? Other countries are doing covid passports and forced lockdowns.

I had flu when I was a teenager... I almost died. Broke a fever about seven times. It was "H1N1". And comparing COVID to that; if I had H1N1 right now, I would have probably ended up in the hospital or worse.

That's my personal experience. Influenza isn't a joke.

I'm on day 3 of what is probably delta. Started as minor head cold which has progressed into a 102 fever. My wife and step daughter were confirmed positive today and I'm still waiting on my test results. I'm quite happy there's been no loss of taste and smell.
