I do not see member avatars displayed or images posted by members in any thread since the last few days. Everything else works fine, but files.abovetopsecret.com just doesn't do a lot. If it matters, my internet connection is in the Netherlands.

ETA Ad-blocker off as always. I can see MRE's on offer.

It happen to me a few days ago, after I did an Intel graphic card driver update in my laptop running windows 10, it corrected itself a day or two later.

I can't even see my own avatar when posting. It is not due to updates or drivers, all other sites display images fine. It happened in the last few days.

Just curious, have you have updated your ATS links to the https protocol?

What browser are you using and is it on a PC o mobile device?

Here's a long shot. Could it be that you've somehow ended up on this test site:

test.abovetopsecret.com...

test.abovetopsecret.com...

No images display, but the ad banner is present.

Apart from that, I'm not up to date enough with Linux to give specific advice.

ETA: this is weird. On my phone avatars work fine in the test environment, but on my work laptop, Win 10 and Edge, they don't.

Back to the drawing board, me thinks.

I'm on www.abovetopsecret.com... It wasn't me!

ETA The problem is my end perhaps, but it is not due to linux.
It's a recent problem that affects no other sites. I don't know how else to say it.

Ok, understood.

Having a look around I saw a possible fix in a forum.

Check out the first solution after the poster's enquiry.

forums.mozillazine.org...

ETA: sorry, that forum is ancient. It's probably irrelevant now.

Ok, doing some more digging, the concept of that old forum thread could still provide the solution.

To the left of the url in the address bar, do you see a padlock with a yellow triangle and exclamation mark?

If so, it means that Firefox is blocking some "mixed" contents, images in your case because it considers the source (different to the main domain) as unsecure. You need to find a way to tell FF to ignore the safety aspect and load everything.

Try a different browser and see if they come back up. If they do, then clear your cache/cookies and see.

Computer restart may help as well!

I had this problem awhile back, but it wasn't everyone's avatars. It was just with a few of the avatars.

I frequently clear out my 'Cached Web Content'.

But in the 'Advanced Options' of Waterfox, it also saves a small amount in 'Offline Web Content & User Data'.(which is located directly beneath the 'Cached Web Content')

I'm pretty sure clearing the 'Offline Web Content & User Data' is what fixed the problem.

Just wanted to thank all for their help. I followed suggestions, tried things, nothing helped and resigned myself to no images. Now it starts working again. All of a sudden. As if by magic. No really.
