The chief health officer of New South Wales gave a press conference telling Australians that they shouldn’t “engage in conversation with each other,” even if they’re wearing masks, in order to reduce the transmission of COVID.

Dr. Kerry Chant made the remarks in response to people in NSW being ordered to comply with yet another lockdown triggered by just a handful of new cases, which included a man in Cootamundra who visited a Woolworths supermarket, Pizza Hut restaurant, petrol station and Officeworks store. “Whilst it’s human nature to engage in conversation with others, to be friendly, unfortunately this is not the time to do that,” said Chant. “So even if you run into your next door neighbor in the shopping center…don’t start up a conversation, now is the time for minimizing your interactions with others, even if you’ve got a mask, do not think that affords total protection, we wanna be absolutely sure that as we go about our daily lives we do not come into contact with anyone else that would pose a risk,” she added.

I think the same applies elsewhere. These so called health officers or public health officials are a bit strange. I am sure this same health person would be breaking their own mandated rule.

Makes you want to question the covid data.

I would suggest that dr chant have its license revoked followed by a full forensic international audit to see who has paid it off. All the accounts including domestic as well as international, foundations, trusts and IBCs. Obviously this thing has been paid off.

I'd like to think that, but it's not the truth IMHO.

It's insanity brought about by the complete absence of understanding of what the situation is that she's dealing with, and she is not alone.

You see the problem we have in Australia is a casedemic, not a pandemic. The fact that about 80% of the population are insufficiently affected by any symptoms is irrelevant to these people. If the case numbers are up then PANIC. Seriously, if they were to report on just hospitalisations I'm pretty sure their whole approach of lockdowns and general allround imprisonment would fall apart, because the numbers would be so much lower than the cases.

Ive been far sicker from other flu bugs as a kid. I bet they killed a lot more people back then too. All politicians who propose injections, should be checked by multiple privately owned labs to insure they actually received the injections they advocate for others to take. Then stick them if they come up negative, and wire their jaws shut so they cant discuss it anymore.

We need food, clothing and shelter and someone to talk to...socializing. That is all we actually need. The someone can be an animal if need be, even a plant to talk to. Talking on the phone can work somewhat but is not enough, typing on the internet chatroom is not enough. We need social interaction. Zoom is an illusion, it is not real.

They're clearly trying to prevent the spread of the truth. (i.e. misinformation)

Retail still opened in nsw.

Here in Victoria it’s only supermarkets, and chemists, mechanics, doctors, food retailers opemrd. Yet in nsw it’s almost all shops opened, people not masking up, nsw deserve what they get.

As much as I hate the andrews gubment, mostly people accept what it is.
