Senate Bill 473, which was inspired in part by the findings presented by State Auditor Beth Wood regarding the mishandling of money within the City of Rocky Mount government, offers more options to regain public money lost in similar situations.
It also criminalizes situations where an elected official misuses his or her elected office for personal financial gain and legally restricts self-dealing by public officials who also serve on nonprofit boards.
As of June 30, the bill has been re-referred to the state House Judiciary I Committee. If that panel approves it, it will then move to the House Rules, Calendar and Operations Committee.
“There is an amendment to the bill floating around that would clarify some of the language surrounding public officers who serve on nonprofit boards, but that amendment can be voted in one of several committees,” Barnes said.
However, some people see the bill as an attack on Black leadership in local governments.
The N.C. State Conference of Branches of the NAACP issued a statement on June 28 that said in part, “In the waning months of this year’s long session of the N.C. General Assembly, a bill was introduced in the N.C. Senate by a Nash County Republican legislator that promotes racial animus and targets duly elected Black officials under the guise of ‘transparency’ and ‘accountability.’”

So, if the National Organization Against Colored People will sit down and shut up already we can get things fixed. THEY are one of the problems now. NAACP probably started for the right reason in a lot of Black communities, but like the flippin' KKK they went evil racist after a short time.

So the KKK started for the "right reasons?"
Please illustrate how.
Waiting for this enlightenment.

In my case I been around for a while, I have seen how our nation has been changed a bit at a time in order to get to the stage we are now.

Look at the statistics: By far, blacks in America tend to subscribe to groupthink when it comes to politics. If that weren't the case, 87% of them who vote wouldn't vote for only one party (Democrats). And if they better understood what they were voting for, I bet that number would go down dramatically.
Generally speaking, ignorance does lead to groupthink and systemic groupthink leads to ignorance, as those in the group often just follow along without knowing why they are truly doing something. If you don't like the way that EdisonintheFM made this valid point, that's fine, but acting he just committed a major sin because you don't like his point or his tone is rather silly.
And his point about the black community's selective outrage over slavery issues and racial issues in general is also a provably valid point. Again, it seems like your feelings were hurt simply because you didn't like his tone or the fact that he was telling the truth.
And yes, I personally have had these conversations with black people AND Hispanic people, as I live in an area where mean ol' white people are the minority. Most of them acknowledge the points as valid...because they have critical-thinking skills. So, I challenge you to prove my points wrong, and if you can, I'll concede that your apparent outrage has a bit of validity behind it, but if not, let's tone down the hyperbolic virtue signaling and read the statements on this website in the margins to your left and right...and then execute that call to action.

I genuinely consider everyone equally suspect until I get to know them.
