Covid 19 Outbreak Australia Lockdowns Is This Real and Now

Here's the thing about Australia..

We managed to be one of the most covid free nations on Earth through good border management and containment policies.

Every state has proved short and sharp lockdowns work. As soon as we get an outbreak of 15+ cases a day ppl are told to stay home.for 3-5 days. And it worked.

Sydney, totally fkd us. They gave in to the protests and naysayers and didnt lockdown when cases jumped, like has happened before. Now it's running rampant.

Deaths in Aus is primarily the elderly, our hospitalisations also ha e been next to none, however this current outbreak has the highest ratio of people in hospital in serious condition.

The reason this is worrying, is because 1 person who was infected with no symptoms went to a footy game on the weekend. He has infected 7 people so far. These people were not sitting near him.. some of them were on the opposite side of the ground.

This person also went to rugby game and has infected someone on a Navy base. So the potential for this to explode is very real.

This is why we lock down, to stop it exploding.

To the person above saying we have had 6mnths of.lockdown and confinement to our rooms that's horsecrap.

5 weeks ago the entire country was open..
2 weeks ago Melb was fully open...

Perth, Darwin, Adelaide, Tasmania are all currently open.

We have a travel bubble with NZ from certain cities

This is my 5th 'short sharp lockdown' and I can tell you 95% of the ppl agree with it and are happy to do it. The 5% that aren't scream loudly and do protests that end up on the TV. They are the extreme minority.

Finally, 1 in 8 ppl are now vaccinated with atleast 1 shot. We r moving forward

For 2 reasons I think.

First, the government botched the roll-out in a number of ways. They staggered who could be vaccinated and when.. so the opportunity to Vax wasnt there for everyone. Also the supply of vaccines wasn't readily available and third, conflicting info. We were told under 60s shouldnt get Astra because it was harming younger people - in some cases causing death. Then suddenly the Prime Minister said the opposite.. people got confused and were reluctant.

Secondly, we didn't believe we needed it. We did so well managing the virus people were complacent. Literally, 1 month ago the entire.country was back to prepandemic days. Open borders.. 0 cases.. no masks.. filled stadiums and concerts.. this new outbreak will probably poke ppl to get the jab sooner - especially now the Aus GVT has asked the Military to get involved and help

I used the same argument in my response that you used in the post I was responding to. You used the argument that you didn't know anybody that died from the vaccine. That's a stupid argument, which you apparently only recognized as a stupid argument when it was used by somebody you disagree with.

It's somewhat expected here, but this is an absolute masterclass in cognitive dissonance. In less than 5 posts you went from using an argument to explain why I'm dumb and vaccines are completely safe, to telling me I'm dumb for using the same argument.

Actually, leading scientists have said that's all accurate and it's the reason Vax isn't the fix.

The Vax stops the spike.protein from attaching.. so you don't get ill
It doesn't sterilise the virus, like traditional Vaccines do.

So you can still get it and pass it on.

The risk here is, the virus will adapt and mutate, then suddenly the vaccines don't work. And the vaccinated will be the new source.

Delta variant is the common summer cold, guys is a lie, no only everybody is testing positive for this, even those with the shots already, is a cold, runny nose, headaches, sore throat, fever and cough.

My daughter had it and soo many of the people that works in the emergency room she works at, nobody was dying from it, but is coming positive for those that takes the covid test, the most are nothing but children, is a darn agenda and now the biggest target is the children.

Old people will get a cold and and have to be careful with pneumonia.

This just incredible, before covid the elderly and those with compromised immune system mostly do to darn big pharm side effects of medications were dying because of pneumonia.

Wow really the doom porn is really becoming addictive.

Maybe the big pharma is trying to hide the fact that years of their miracle treatments is slowly killing people immune systems.

4 million dead worldwide is not even a fraction of those that were dying from other diseases and pharma malpractice yearly, is all a lie, if you noticed the CDC and big pharma deceptions backed by governments around the world, are only keeping tags on people's testing positive for covid, easily manufactured, but none is keeping track of side effects or dead by the shot. Or how many are getting tested positive after getting the shot.

I always go back to an article I read in the USA Today, Im still searching for it I wished I would have saved it, this was from early on when it was first hitting the US. The guy had great credentials in this field, basically, he said once it's here it will need to run its course through a population, everything else just slows down that process. Ergo lockdowns were just to reduce the strain on hospitals they knew way back then everybody was gonna get it sooner or later and those vulnerable were gonna die more frequently than those who weren't. We lock downed because Rt was off the charts 3.0 or higher and it was supposed to stay at that level in the US it was there just a few weeks in the beginning. For example here in Georgia, we are getting new cases but hospitalizations and death are still flat and Georgia is and has been wide open for a couple of months and has an extremely low number of those vaccinated less than 40%

It will never go back to normal.

It's always been about power and control.

Everybody will catch this sooner or later, the odds of covid mutating out of existence is small.

If it was near as deadly as people claim the elderly population in Florida would be dead and gone.

Lastly positive tests are a horrible measure to initiate a lockdown since everyone will catch it but the vast majority will not need the hospital.

Similar to what happened here.

We haven't got the new lockdowns yet, but even a few cases and we'll be locked down again.

I was genuinely interested, as I see a lot of news from Oz but usually can't get it from the horses mouth.

You're wondering why there is an outbreak now after many people have been vaccinated.

The answer is simply: There is an outbreak now, because many people have been vaccinated.

Now that they are vaccinated, they are less worried about getting the disease, so now more people are spreading the virus.

This was the official stance, lockdown not to protect everyone but to keep the curve flat so the ICUs would not be flooded.

And just about a month ago, there was lot's of talk about how hospitals faked ICU bed numbers for $. Even though the ICU bed never were actually getting flooded, this on top too.

This changed somehow when the new "vaccines" were getting "approved". There's a clear pattern in slowly changing the tune, about every three months since this all started.

First there was talk from politics that never ever will we have a two class society. It was taboo to even entertain that the soon to be vaccinated would get benefits. Then politics realized that the population doesn't want to vaccination as bad as they would have liked it.

So they started to couple it with benefits and they started talking about that around the 20% first vaccination mark. When 4/5th of the population didn't even had the first shot! They started soon because they expected faster vaccination rates.

Now our health minister is demanding more "vaccination willingness from the people" can you believe that? Demanding and expecting.

I'm not sure why people can not understand it is not like there is some plastic bubble over you. You get the vaccine and your body develops defenses for it. IF you get infected with the actual virus your body doesn't need a week to formulate new defenses as the virus spreads the defenses are in place and knock it down quickly like a common flu, so maybe nothing at all or you feel like crap a couple of days at worst compared to 3 weeks in a hospital or death.

Pretty fair trade I would say....
