the Great Singularity waits for No One

Researchers have discovered a process to charge devices from electricity generated between fingertips.

Scientists have invented the world’s most efficient on-body energy harvester, capable of powering devices from a person’s fingertips.

Engineers at the University of California San Diego discovered that a thin, flexible strip placed on the skin could generate enough electricity from a wearer’s sweat to power wearables and other devices.

One step closer to never unplugging.

Ever.

Soon they will figure out that the human body is a rather amazing thing... not only does it generate a lot of electricity chemically, but it also has the ability to communicate on a cellular lever through a process they are beginning to discover through quantum physics.

Only then will they be able to tap the incredible resources available using the human body...

Oh wait.

Haven't I heard of this before and it involves a red and a blue pill somehow?

That is a new application, not a discovery. It is a lemon battery using sweat on cloth or paper for the lemon.

This video is even better. Closer to the "discovery". Just substitute sweaty cloth or paper for the salt water.

And so it begins...

Oddly, I see a vast conspiracy in this....companies paying hospitals to encourage people to keep their family members on life support just to use them as batteries....imagine the number of batteries coming with baby boomer deaths....

A bucket of salt water is cheaper than running life support.

Not if emotions, family and taxpayer money are involved.

We are discussing making a battery here not keeping someone alive. The human in this scientific quackery is only used for a source of sweat. You could pee on it and it would still work. Might even make a better battery that way.

I get it. I am just proposing this is possibly going to become a new way to "preserve" your loved ones....a building housing humans on life support...batteries....

scientific course paper

And that is from Stanford....2016.

Odd course to take right?

I'm pretty sure a "holy grail" discovery would be related to immortality and not energy harvesting technology. Sensational headline is sensational.

But it will take over 1000 times the power to run the life support than you get from the sweat. Not going to happen.

Energy powers the energy field that protects our body and cells, taking away that power that binds the skin might make it easier to get cut. Seems to me that those bandaids will just get destroyed if you handle anything. What happens if you wash your hands? Maybe a little common sense should be taught to scientists.

Why not just make a fabric and incorporate it into a shirt to spread the area out, or make gloves.

It's better than solar power, and that same sentiment could be said about computers 30 years ago.

Now we're talking.....that is some Tesla style mesh network kind of forward thinking.

Exactly. This 'discovery' is about harvesting sweat. It is easier and cheaper to just put salt in water.

Do you guys know that a clock ticking on your wrist paces the heartbeat to a certain extent, research on that was done over sixty years ago. Wearing a watch can actually moderate temperance on the job, employers once required workers to wear watches with hands because of that knowledge. That knowledge has been disgarded, our advancements got rid of ticking watches which can moderate heart beat and everything went digital. Lots of changes have caused an increase in temper flares and excitability, diet is only a part of it.

So you don't mind digging up the planet to get the metals, probably aluminun and copper, to make this work. Solar is just as dirty for the same reasons.

When the bacteria starts growing on this battery, it will stink and be thrown out. Just another disposible item to land fill.

If you put piezo electric wafers in your shoes you can generate electricity. If you stack piezo electric disks in an antenna configuration with low loss diodes and capacitors you can harvest electricity from the EMF everywhere. If you bury different metals in the ground with just earth you can make 1.4v 50 amp batteries using about 1/2 a cubic yard of space. Lots of ways to make energy lol

Cheers - Dave

if this was possible, it would take a lot more then just bodies. they would have to be equipt with a device to make the fluctuation happen & to measure output to input to not have the blood sugar get to low
