I heard a soundbite about this on a talk radio show earlier today, and found the full story on the Politico website. The author put together a folksy,
human interest story (NPR style) about life in the hood. Not just life in the hood, but life in the hood with covid. The story takes place in a
barbershop. (seriously) The "It's Official Barbershop". The story plays like a sitcom episode, and it reinforced how the liberals use black
people as political pawns. If they were honest, they would just say "We need to educate these ignorant people, because they obviously can't think
for themselves. Let's explain science to them. And then they'll vote for us." Why do I get the impression that the libs view black people as some
sort of pets that they need to take care of.
After a very quick intro about the barbershop, complete with "James Brown screeching in the background", we move right into the covid discussion.
The White House is troubled that for some inexplicable reason, the local residents aren't getting vaxxed. Why? A couple guys from the neighborhood
said it plainly. They don't trust the vaccine. They said crazy things like "I want to know all the ingredients". (That statement was from a 17-year
old boy, btw.)
A couple of weeks ago, Kamala Harris's husband visited the barbershop, to no avail. Frustrated, the White House initiated “Shots at the Shops” in
an effort to get these stubborn people vaxxed. It’s also sending “surge teams” to some of the lowest vaccinated spots in the country,
enlisting trusted messengers like church leaders to go door-to-door. And they’ll add mobile vaccination units at places like music festivals,
sporting events or neighborhoods with low vaccination rates.
The neighborhood folks still resisted the vax, so Biden issued this statement last week:
“Now we need to go to community-by-community, neighborhood-by-neighborhood, and oftentimes, door to door — literally knocking on doors — to get
help to the remaining people.”
The article's author states that for all the celebrities pushing the vax, the offers of free beer, and even cash, these people remain stubborn.
One of the barbers at the shop, Travis Perry, cut to the chase:
Perry said he’s known two or three people who had covid. All survived. Since March, he’s known 10 people who were shot, some of whom died,
including children. Shop customer C.J. Ayers knew two people who had covid, both lived. Since May, Ayers said he personally knows 15 people who were
shot — four of them died.
The author states that somehow, the gun violence is playing a role in the vaccination refusals. I'm not joking! Her exact words:
At the “It’s Official Barbershop,” the obstacles to the vaccine run much deeper than mere apprehension. The scourge of gun violence has
consumed the lives of Englewood residents, as it has in other predominantly Black and brown neighborhoods of Chicago.
WTF?????? Does that make any sense?
