Because Lt. General is quite a ways up there rank wise.

The higher you get, the less room at the inn, so to speak.

Probably 30 plus years in uniform. At that level, politics plays a huge roll in moving up, or moving out.

Yes, there could be quite a few reasons for the (Ret.) after his name...most of 'em aren't bad, as you seem to be implying.

I will always place the mission first, I will never accept defeat, I will never quit, I will never leave a fallen comrade.

I’ve been out for a long time but still know this without hesitation. Obviously you don’t, wonder why.

I never implied anything at all whatsoever.
So , you read stuff INTO my post.

There are many reasons.
Some even lead to being asked to retire .

Next time , dont be so blinded by your blinders.

I'm a bit concerned about this implication that America is apparently anticipating a war. There's just not enough room to both arm/condition ourselves for war and encourage peace. Either we are prepared to launch a mutually destructive conclusion that will likely alter civilization on a global scale, or we are dedicated to a mutual solution that will spare literal billions of lives. How easily are the big military thinkers provoked and where do they draw the line in terms of retaliation? There's a classic principle that says you don't aim a gun unless you fully intend to discharge that weapon. So there's an implicit declaration that we are endorsing the deaths of everyone who isn't a US citizen, and we have the audacity to react in outrage when we are treated likewise. This is simply bonkers.

That’s one perspective. My concern is that the US has gone from the greatest military in the world to having a Navy unprepared for war and an Air Force that no longer had to run or do push-ups, because someone might fail and get their fee-fees hurt.

If I was a genius, this is exactly how I would defeat the United States military. From the inside.

Either wipe Iran off the map or stay the hell away from their borders.

We don't need to stay away from them, we just need to not penetrate them.

The job of the military is to always anticipate war.

So our military in the Navy are cowards and surrender?

Tell it To a SEAL. Face to face. I dare you.

This was obviously referring to the leadership.

But deflect some more. I dare you.

I haven't posted here in a while. I see people still aren't reading the OP source material before they post.

I served from 2004-2016 in the US Air Force, enlisted. This absolutely was happening and I have no doubt it has accelerated. Every time you turn around we had to stop doing our job to do some computerized "training" or go to some woke seminar.

It sickens me to see what has happened to our military, but it's a symptom of a larger problem. All of our once-great institutions are nothing more than vehicles for socialist activism. The media, our schools, they barely even pretend not to be anymore. They don't have to.

We're all freaking out about it now that it's too late. The time to have these discussions was decades ago. It's pervasive now. The war of ideas is lost. You can't even get alternative ideas to enough people because of the grip they have on information.

How did it come to this? We let it happen. The frog in the slowly boiling water analogy is spot on.

Surely these recruits haven't just been trained since January? Surely a previous administration must be at fault?

He'd tell you what everyone else would tell you: command are a bunch of morons.

No..the rot of Marxism has been in there for quite some time. At least 20 years, maybe more. No one administration can be blamed, but I would guess Obama had more to do with it than any other single President. Trump trusted Mark Millie when his instincts should have told him otherwise.
But Biden has purged the military, remember?

Lol@ that Havamal guy. As soon as people started questioning his "15" years of service he bailed.

There is no way he served 12 years as an Officer. Maybe in some obscured country he did.

I haven't seen this gentleman before doing the reaction video, but I think he's missing the point. He basically says he doesn't think the video is effective because it doesn't speak to the kind of people you want joining the military. It DOES speak to the kind of people the regressives who made the video want to join the military though. They want other woke communists to join the ranks, that's who that recruitment video was made for.

I wasn't sure you were implying anything, that's why I phrased it as I did.

As for being asked to retire, I'm well aware that that happens quite a lot--especially at that level.

My blinders? Seriously?

What ever, man.

It would be the Navy Seal that would look at our Navy and go "WTF?"

I can't believe people dont know yet. The Democrats have obviously been infiltrated by foreign influence. enemies.

Every single one of their ideas is to systematically hurt the country

It’s crazy. I just blocked my best friend of all time because he was quoting Milley saying we are the people we fought in WW2. We are Nazis.

He’s known me almost 30 years. I’ve saved his ass in so many barfights it’s not funny. We were best men in each other’s weddings.

But yes. It’s as obvious as the nose of my face that democrat party has been highly infiltrated and the key republicans have been paid to look the other way.
They don’t even care about Fang Fang.
