Typical Texan rep: all hat, no cows, low understanding, wants to keep Texas for Texans, doesn't understand who real Texans are.

Nothing is making it harder to vote. Suddenly in 2020 when there was the LARGEST turnout ever there is an argument about voter suppression?

'Real' Texans don't flee on a plane to avoid a vote.

democrats do.

They can stand on the floor of the House and argue all they want but when they take off in a private jet to 'escape' it is not right. At all.

Damn, that’s an ugly bunch. With apparently ugly morals. If the plane went down the loss would be minimal.

As long as the flight crew walked away.

If these lawmakers broke the law then arrest them. However, I don't exactly see how that's going to help them get a quorum if these lawmakers are in jail.

It may not help this particular quorum but 60 to 90 days in jail might go a long way in preventing the next one.

Typical Democrat.

Can't win the game? Upend the table.

Am I the only one who thinks it ironic that as Texas Democrats oppose the pending legislation as anti-democratic, they object to a Republican majority and seek to disrupt it?

Loony world.

(50) Delta Airlines airfares @ $237/ea. = $11,850

Cost to charter a 50 passenger CRJ 200 - $19,650 / hour

Flight time from Dallas to DC - 3 hours

$19, 650/hr. x 3 hours = $58,950

Seems to me, someone's got $47,370 dollars worth of explaining to do!!!

Isn't that kind of the point though? 2020 had the largest turnout of any election in US history and according to Secretaries of State in all of these states trying to roll back mail-in voting/voting hours in certain areas/etc it was also the most secure.

So, if the 2020 election had the largest turnout in history while still being the most secure, why do Republicans need to make it more difficult for people to vote?

Shouldn't the goal be to make voting as easy as possible while still ensuring its security?

Based on what? An unsubstantiated assertion?

Did you express a similar opinion when Republican lawmakers in Oregon did the same thing back in 2019, 2020, and earlier this year?

So you are saying that since republican's did this, it's OK for democrats to do it as well? I just need to follow the logic.

To quote Keith Ingram, Texas' Director of Elections:

“In spite of all the circumstances, Texas had an election that was smooth and secure,” Ingram told lawmakers in March, referring to the effect of the pandemic. “Texans can be justifiably proud of the hard work and creativity shown by local county elections officials.”

So some folks think limiting the right to vote legally is a good thing?

Who are these people?

Oh, that's right. It is those folk, again.

They like gerrymandering and stomping on voting rights of "certain" people. They long for the good ole' days of Jim crow and poll taxes.

Texas is already one of the worst turn out states, and most difficult to vote in.

So what do "they" do?

Make it harder to vote!

Please explain the changes that are proposed and how the make brown people not be able to vote. I only know the laws as they are explained, and so far, have seen nothing that would be bad, but you must have the answers to post as you do. I sure hope you don't just scamper off like you usually do when asked questions.
