Peaceful protests are growing in #Cuba as the Cuban people exercise their right to peaceful assembly to express concern about rising COVID cases/deaths & medicine shortages. We commend the numerous efforts of the Cuban people mobilizing donations to help neighbors in need.

I can take my business anywhere I want. When the government controls the reigns I can't. If I want a college degree I go through them. I want food and healthcare I go through them. I need a house, they own it and I go through them. Not sure how you think that's the situation in America today.

Bernie is a socialist, not a communist, I know this confuses people but they are not the same. Also, it's important to understand that socialism or communism as economic systems do not necessarily describe a form of government. Indeed, several political regimes that have been labeled as such are, in fact, authoritarian or dictatorships. Cuba is a dictatorship and is almost the complete opposite of socialism.

The closest you get to a socialist country is probably Sweeden. The UK is sort of socialist light they have a lot of policies in place. For example worker protection in much stronger in the UK vs the United States.
True socialism as a country has not really been tried because capitalism always intertwines with it.

Capitalism though has driven everything from slavery to human organ trafficking and it's true death toll is beyond the scope of this site to estimate but it is many magnitudes greater and also over a far larger period of time but even just within the twentieth century's its true death toll may be beyond calculation.

Let me give you some examples of the good things that Western European socialism did, National health services, Education improvement's, social housing to end homelessness, state subsidies (For PRIVATE owned company's), workers right's and protections.

Some of the bad Thing's, Nationalising company's that ended up costing more than they ever paid back into the public purse but it is a grey one as it did help to keep some impoverished areas with a major employer were there would otherwise be none..

So I could bend the branch and admit it was PART Capitalist but it was capitalist with a very strong Socialist influence.

Communism on the other hand is NOT Cooperative society's it is state owning everyone and conquest of and ownership of everyone by the state and of course the state belongs to the Party whose members are exclusive especially at there higher level's, basically it's just swapping one crown for another and the people still suffer under that system especially when the one wearing the crown the so called chairman is an even despot like Stalin, Mao etc.

So Cuba would be a workers' paradise if not for U.S. sanctions? Cuba trades with just about everyone except the United States. It's been a member of the WTO since 1995 and the EU is its biggest trade partner.

If the key for every communist nation to attain prosperity -- and this apparently includes China -- is to trade with the USA, what does that say about communism? And how do you know the Cubans want more communism? Was there a poll?

Look at what Sweden was like before they took away there border controls and joined the EU, Denmark, Norway etc.

What did they have, the highest living standards in the world, the least homeless people, the lowest crime rates (before they got over run by Islamic and eastern European migrants), the best employment standards and workers right's.

It isn't just mass protests. The communist regime called for the communists, the ones that live well, to go to the streets with the police and to attack the protestors. Several protestors have been murdered and many more have been disappeared completely. Which means they were murdered and thrown to the sea, or put in mass graves. The Mexican communist dictator also stated they will send 20,000 soldiers to Cuba to help the repressive regime to attack the people...

In Miami Florida many of my family members have also taken to the streets in Miami/Hialeah to protest as well and show support for our Cuban brethren whom are still living under the communist repressive regime...
