SHORT STORY WRITERS CONTEST for July-August 2021 -- CAFE DELIRIUM -- CD2021

Oh what the heck. seize the night.
Some expressions just can't wait, and some stories must be told, because time waits for no-one.
Here's my effort: Mens sana in corpore sano.
It means, "a healthy mind in a healthy body" in classical Latin.
Of course, that is meant somewhat ironically, as well as being a trope in the story.

I’m loving these stories. Some had me crying and I think that’s awesome that it provoked that response. Deep stuff.
I’m working on mine. Sometimes a story doesn’t come quickly but that’s ok, I have time !

I hope you don't mind advice. I put the idea of the contest in my head, and I let it rest. I don't stew on it or wrestle my mind about it. I just let it rest. I always carry around a notebook, but I hope inspiration comes when I am at home, because I'm a stellar typist. My notebook is always filled with oddball things. You didn't need to know that.

Our subconscious is a strange thing, almost like an entity separate from our conscious awareness. When inspiration strikes, I like to be able to sit down and type. I hope it works that way for you.

I wish we could exchange notebooks to see my notebook is full oddities as well.

You know there is no such thing as 'normal'. It's just an imaginary constant. We all show as much of our crazy as we want. Creative people have more of the moonbat than others. Most of our generational geniuses are probably more than a little bit moonbat. Certain correlations can be made.

A Dream of Cafe' Delerium

Hope it is worthy.

I ain’t gonna lie .. I literally am living in cafe delirium now. Hahahaha!! I keep writing and thinking and I finally thought I finished it last night but I’m just not sure. I hate second guessing myself and I know I just need to let it go and I know y’all gave me advice and it’s great but my brain just like refuses to help me out .. but I started painting a pic to go along with my story and as soon as I’m done, I’ll post it!

This is how I feel today ..
