I don't watch much TV, but there is one program I watch and that is...Yellowstone

The suspense for Season 4 is killing me! Over the past couple of weeks we've watched Seasons 1-3 all over again (for about the 3rd time). My wife told her widowed neighbor friend that she should watch it, so she has been coming over to watch it and now she's all into it! Like..."Time for you to go home now!...level of into it. It is pretty addictive, and it's a GREAT show, probably one of the best I've ever seen!

However, I have a question, and I need some help.

-----------------------WARNING - SPOILER ALERT!!!-------------------------

If you're just starting to watch Yellowstone, and haven't made it all the way through Season 3 yet then...STOP READING RIGHT HERE!

I think I've pretty well pieced together what happened at the end of Season 3, the last episode of which was a real doozy and the mother of all cliff-hangers. However, I think I've still got some pieces to work out. I know, I know, I'm acting like a soap opera addict, but it's THAT good! Anyway, I'd love to hear comments from Yellowstone fanatics about the following scenarios, plus any opinions or blanks (?????) you can fill in:

These are my hypotheses for Season 4.

--------------------------------------------

John Dutton - Survives the shooting. His cellphone saved his life.

Rip - Was heading back to the ranch when Dutton was shot. Dutton was in front of him headed away from the ranch. Rip saw the vultures off in the distance, foreshadowing something (?????). Rip finds Dutton mortally wounded on the side of the road as he gets closer to the ranch. He also finds the boy who had bent down in the grass to pick up the lugnuts unharmed. The boy's mother is dead. Rip rushes Dutton to the hospital and takes the boy to safety.

Beth Dutton - Survives the bomb blast, but is severely disfigured and/or crippled (possibly losing a limb or two, and my wife thinks an eye also would be a nice touch so she could wear a patch like a pirate! LOL!). Rip and Beth get married, and adopt the now motherless boy.

Kayce Dutton - Survives the 2nd shooting by hiding behind his reinforced desk. The shooting solidifies his decision to run for Governor.

Jaime Dutton - Was the mastermind behind all the shootings (both Duttons), bombing (Beth) and other mayhem. His impetus for doing this was the revelation that John Dutton is not his real father, and he decides to take over the Yellowstone as his own empire to sell. This scheme will only work if he can convince the current Governor to Condemn the Yellowstone as Eminent Domain for the new airport project and other developments which will make him an overnight billionaire. Kayce, becoming Governor, will prevent this from happening.

Jimmy the Ranch hand - Will die from his injuries getting bucked off the bronco, but not before being found by his manipulative girlfriend for a big drama scene.

Blue Thunder - That woman has GOT to GO! I just can't see how they can let anyone that evil survive on the show. She's so dangerous she's actually scary!

Summary - Ultimately John Dutton will step down, and put Rip and Beth in charge of the Yellowstone. Beth will be the bloodline, and Rip the caretaker. Kayce will be elected governor of Montana, and then seek the ultimate revenge on Jaime. (that'll be a pretty amusing episode!!). Kayce will also figure out a way to take down Roarke and Market Equities.

However, this still leaves a bunch of loose ends and questions:

Questions -

- Rainwater and the Indian Nation has got to figure into all of this somehow, and I can't figure out where he fits. (?????)

- Does Kayce make some kind of a deal with Rainwater?? Maybe a couple casinos and some land??

- What was the explosion Monica heard which made her jump and turn around while she was on the phone with Kayce before the line went dead? (????). (Note - this was a very quick scene, and you had to be paying close attention to catch it. It's definitely relevant though).

- The chick that Jaime knocked up has got to figure into all of this somehow, but how????? She's gonna' show up any minute now and cause trouble. Does Beth hunt her down and kill her, making good on her promise to "Kill everything Jaime loves"????

- How does Kacey exact revenge on Jaime (?????). I think he figures out he can't get him convicted for the shootings and bombings of the Duttons, but he can get him convicted for the murder of the investigative reporter and gets him disgraced, disbarred and sent to prison to rot for Life (?????)

What do you think???

Thinking about the Rainwater dilemma a little bit...could this be one possible outcome???...

- Rainwater realizes that Blue Thunder is beyond dangerous to both him and the Indian nation as a whole, so he has Mo take her out. Then he hires Monica (Kayce's wife) to be the PR face of his cause. This resonates with her burning desire to help the Indian nation, and because she's Kayce's wife, Rainwater realizes the Duttons and the Yellowstone are a far better ally than an adversary???? So he backs off trying to take down the Yellowstone and focuses his efforts elsewhere????

ETA - Oh, and my prediction is Beth ain't done with her carnage yet either, FAR from it!! She's gonna' come back meaner than a feral cat on a stick at a Chinese BBQ!!

And then there's the plane. Whatever happened to the Beck brother's plane with the bomb on it?????

The next person(s) to fly on that plane are gonna' to die on that plane. The show can't leave that loose end open! That would be almost irresponsible of the story writers to do that! So, the plane must factor into all of this somehow too.

Aside from the investigation into the killings of the Beck brothers, Kayce can't possibly let that plane fall into the wrong hands, so he almost has to be the one to orchestrate what happens to it. Now, putting his brother Jaime on that plane is looking like it might not be a bad idea, but whatever happens he can't let some innocent people get on it. I guess the other option would be he could just have the plane destroyed so it never flies anywhere.

Cheers, was looking for a new TV series to watch, going to give it a try.

What platform did you watch it on?

I see season 1 on prime for £20.

We've just recorded it from whatever network it's on, so it's included in our TV package. We live out in the sticks so we have satellite (Dish I think).

You will love Yellowstone! It is the best series I've ever seen, hand's down! Very well done. Photography is fantastic. Acting is excellent. Just watch a few trailers on YouTube, and you'll be hooked!

Critics panned the show initially, and now it has broken every record in the history of Television! The other networks might as well just shut down when a new episode of Yellowstone comes on.

I don't even watch TV hardly at all, like practically zero, and I absolutely LOVE this show!!

ETA - I knew it was gonna' be good when the critics panned it! Stupid critics! LOL!

I don't even have a TV package, just netflix and prime etc.

Last two i watched were Bodyguard and Justified, really enjoyed Justified, rural America really appeals to me. My plan was to move over to one of the southern states with my son when he finishes school and buy some land, doubt that will be possible now.

We're now looking at property just east of Yellowstone (Park). The "Yellowstone" ranch in the series is actually set in the Montana side of Yellowstone Park. We'll be buying down on the Wyoming side.

But, we've got a few hundred acres which will be coming up for sale before too long here in Colorado, if you're interested. Cattle ranch. Not one of the monster ranches like the Yellowstone (which is actually a fictional ranch), but I know some of the guys who own the ranches up in that area and they are massive! We won't be buying anything that big, but probably like size as we've got now. Appraisers tell us we can get about a million two to a million three out of this place, maybe a little more depending on the market when we sell.

If property prices keep going the way they're going here, it could wind up being crazy amounts of money!

I learned a long time ago...land is never a bad investment, because they're not making any more of it!! Told my wife that 25 years ago, and she's been on me ever since to buy more.

We haven't put the place up for sale yet, but it will have a 5,000 SF home, 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths and a master suite, commercial grade kitchen, 6,000 SF (50x120 clear-span) out-building and at least 500 acres (depending on how we sell the parcels). All the tractors, heavy equipment and livestock are going with us.

There actually is no actual "ranch" inside the Yellowstone National Park boundaries. There are landowners who have cattle leases with the BLM inside some of the edges of the Park, and many of these leases are generations old, but there is no "ranch". The monster ranches are both south (down by Jackson Hole) and north, of the Park. There are also some sizable ranches west of the park in Idaho.

The Indian nation depicted in the show is well south and east of the Park. It used to be named the "Shoshone Indian Reservation", but now it is called the "Wind River Reservation" because there are multiple tribes there now.

I grew up not far from this land, and I know the ways of the old people. My Best Friend was Cherokee.

I know this place, all of it. I used to have to get Tribal Council permission to hunt and fish on their land. Sadly, I was one of the few who ever did this, the Indian nation was sorely absent. The Elders said it was because of drugs and booze.

The stories I could tell of these times are both fantastical and endless. Fish jumping out of the water to grab every single lure before another fish. Tens of pounds of high-mountain fish and wild game every night...and we were the ONLY ones there. We were required to hire and take a Tribal Elder with us on every trip. They often lamented the fact that we were the only ones who wanted to come hunt and fish the land as they did in days past. All the rest, their younger generation, in their minds, had been..."Lost".

ETA - I am divinely privileged to have been a part of that lifestyle and time. It defined my life.

Sounds great, it’s my dream lifestyle, when I was younger my Dad lived in the country and Mum in the city. I used to love going to his, spend my days out playing in the fields and forests with the dogs etc, then I’d return to the city and get involved in things I shouldn’t.

My son goes to a really good grammar school here in London, one of the top schools in the country so I have another 4 years before I can even consider moving. Just saving every penny between now and then, see how the finances look when he finishes school then work out what kind of property I can afford.

I don’t even know what’s involved in working 500 acres but I can imagine it keeps you busy that’s for sure. To buy 500 acres of farmland here in the UK would be ridiculously expensive.

Dammit. Now you've got me all worked up and ready for Season 4 again. I re-watched Seasons 1 & 2 before Season 3. I'll probably do it again before watching Season 4.

Other than while I was watching the finale, I hadn't put much thought at all into who was actually behind it, but yeah Jamie is the only one that really makes any sense. It was too soon for any of the other 'enemies'.

I wonder how much time will have passed between the finale and where Season 4 begins....

We've just recorded it from whatever network it's on, so it's included in our TV package. We live out in the sticks so we have satellite (Dish I think).
Paramount Network.

Rip and Beth get married, and adopt the now motherless boy.
I can't imagine Rip trying to run the ranch, helping take care of Beth, and trying to raise a previously unknown child as his own, all while revenge will still be one of his top priorities.

John's injuries will be minor, so if that kid is still in the picture, I think John will be the one raising him.(but I suppose John would put the kid to work, possibly assisting Beth, and maybe even helping Jimmy also.)

Jaime Dutton - Was the mastermind behind all the shootings (both Duttons), bombing (Beth) and other mayhem.
If this↑ is true, Jaime's real father probably had a big role in the planning, and also finding the men to do it.

What was the explosion Monica heard
At the time I was watching it, I'm pretty sure I thought that was meant to be the sound from the explosion at Beth's office, but thinking back now, I don't remember exactly where Monica was at the time. Was she still at the ranch? If so, then I guess she probably wouldn't have heard THAT explosion.

Before posting this comment, I decided to double-check on IMDB to see if you had the names spelled right. You got 'Kayce' right, but not 'Jamie'.

Anyways, I came across this article:
www.denofgeek.com...

The preview video does show one new thing, but it was something you already knew.

Revenge..... Will Be... Worth...... The Wait!
They apparently haven't yet released a specific date, but... Season 4 is "Coming This Fall".

and SPOILER ALERT (kinda)................... In that article, Both Beth & Jimmy are included in the list of returning characters.

Do me a favor; watch the end of Episode 10 (Season 3) very carefully, and tell me what you make of it.

The circling ravens are in front of Rip, as he goes back to his truck after shooting the horse. They're off in the direction he's headed with his truck.

And re-watch the segment with Monica when she's on the phone with Kayce, but watch it in slow motion. There's an explosion behind Monica, right before the line goes dead. You can hear it, but not see it. It can't be the explosion from Beth's office in town, it's too far away. It must be on the ranch.

What does it all mean?

That was the Mother of ALL cliff-hangers, that episode!

"I'd rather kill a thousand men, than kill another horse!"

Just that one line alone from Rip was worth watching the whole series for!

Funniest comment I ever read on YT...

When Rip said leave or I’ll Bury you where you stand i got off the couch and left my house.

Practically fell off my chair laughing!!

Interesting take. Thanks for the reply!

You could be right about John vs Beth and Rip with the kid, but don't forget...Beth can't have kids. So, this would make sense, right?

Jamie - Oops on the spelling, you're right. I agree, Jamie's father would have had to have been involved, and given his shady past he probably could find the helpers to assist.

Monica - Yes, she's at the ranch, so the explosion in the background must be at the ranch also, but it's off in the distance. Beth's office is too far away.

Jimmy - Interesting! I wonder what they're going to do with his character if he lives. I figured for sure one of them had to die after all that, so my conclusion was Jimmy.

My favorite part of that was how he didn't even have to think about it. He saw the fight and he saw the bikes, then the next step was automatic.

Of course you gotta love when the guy tells Rip, "I'll fkn shoot you!"
Rip just keeps walking... "You better get after it then... Too Late!!!"

Re-watching that scene reminds me how much I like Teeter. She quickly grew on me. I didn't like it when I thought they killed her.

You still could be right. Just because he is returning, doesn't necessarily mean he will be there the whole Season.

John seems to have a soft sport for Jimmy though. After getting hurt again from getting back up on that bucking horse, and since John basically told him not to do that, he's kinda gonna owe John big time.

Jimmy may end up going out in a blaze, getting himself killed, while taking out one of the 'bigger enemies'.... possibly.

Exactly! He's like a cat crossed with Charolais bull, always lands on his feet mean as a hornet.

I liked how he clubbed him with his own gun, but again you see that instant reflex as he instantly turns on the biker gal just like a rodeo bull going after the nearest bullfighter, not a second wasted..."Which one of these a-holes is the boss of you??-WHICH ONE OF THESE MF'ers?????" And then the way he stomps off, like a raging freaking bull...just great acting!

Yeah, she's cool. Tough young gal, hangin' with those cowhands like she does.

BTW - You probably know this but Forrie J. Smith, the guy who plays Lloyd Pierce (who is in the truck with Rip in the biker scene), is actually a rodeo cowboy in real life and has been all of his life (as well as a stuntman). Says Yellowstone is one of the most realistic western shows he's ever worked on. He often goes out of his way to compliment all of the writers and producers for keeping the show so realistic.

My theory is he dies right where he lays, but not before some dramatic scene with his GF.

I like your blaze of glory angle though. That'd probably be better!
