The Supreme Court on Monday declined to take up the issue of whether the nation's schools must allow students to use the bathroom that match their gender identities.

The court declined, without comment, to hear the case of Gavin Grimm, who has been at the center of a long legal battle with the school board in Gloucester County, Virginia. Grimm was born female but identified as male after his freshman year in high school, legally changing his name and beginning hormone therapy.

I guess this fits right in with other recent threads on this issue.

I thought that back in the day the hippies had it figured right. Find a stool that was empty and use it, flush, stand up and walk away. Don't get blown out by someone of the other sex using it after or before you. Of course the urinals were much easier for men to use then for women. Back then, a woman using a stool in the mens room when the womens room had a long line was easy to understand. Ya gotta go so you gotta go.

Trump sure picked some progressive Justices. Like all of them.

Make the Court political, and now they are too afraid to look political. To make the big decisions. Probably out of fear of being a target of one of the two Parties and their members.

Sweet, Ket. Maybe we could start a list of possible new names for this person to choose from.

But back the the SC. I guess they don't want any part of this and will leave it up to the states.
I guess that's not a bad idea. It will limit the travel ability of those who need specific accommodations. Don't come to our state cuz you will not be allowed to take a dump in your ''prefered'' station.

This is all so messed up. Those who are for allowing all of this sex change stuff should have had it all figured out already. But they didn't and now look were we are. I'm pointing directly at the liberal establishment here.

Nah screw that, women should stick to their own bathrooms...I've been to enough concerts to see what happens. All of a sudden the women's lineup's like 100 people long, next thing you know they're all heading to the Guy's room. Guy's room's all empty and chill, you're pissing doing your thing, next thing you know, the women fill it up, then both washrooms become inaccessible, because it's some kind of law of science, women cannot take less than 5 minutes to pee.

Life was easy when the stalls had doors.
The freaking vandals ruined it.
Stall doors removed to deter vandalism.

It's the vandals' fault!!!

The Supreme Court shouldn't have anything to do with this.

States need to stand up and make these decisions on their own.

If your state condones nonsense like this then move to a state that isn't on the gender gyroscope.

People complain about the government being to big and too intrusive yet run to the government over crap like this.

Just create a third bathroom/locker room for the other 45 genders to share, they ARE feathers of the same peacock.

I identify as a mouse and because of that i do not HAVE to follow the laws of the USA. I suppose I should not be voting, and since I evidently did not vote for the winning presidential candidate the last time, I really don't even want to vote anymore. I actually do not feel it is worth voting for anybody going to DC anymore, there is so much politics there that it has become disfunctional.

It is time.

This decade needs to go down in history as the decade of the impeachment.

Once Congress is cleansed next year, it is time to start mass impeachments of the Judiciary, including most of the ones on the Supreme Court.

The other day SCOTUS ruled on a case where a cheerleader got kicked off the squad for posting on Snapchat "F school, F softball, F soccer"...

But they can't be bothered to rule on perverts using women's bathrooms.

Our SCOTUS is pretty useless. They exist now to get big paychecks and write books.
With that said, our states court should be making this decision. And the decision should be easy: Your DNA dictates our sex/gender and keep the boys with the boys and the girls with the girls. The end.

The funny thing is that the school had unisex bathrooms that could have been used, but, that wasn't a reasonable accommodation.

This is all about the agenda, no more, no less.

I've been noticing that they seem to be big into the 9-0 rulings lately. Maybe they couldn't do that on this one so they noped out on it.

9-0 is much more common than 5-4.

Let me guess... They were too far away?
They didn't have enough time to walk an additional 50 foot down a different hallway?

a 'tranrestroom is the only real solution, in my opinion.

I personally think the Supreme Court is playing political games with this. It is a case that they should hear, because Title IX protects women's sex-based right to single-sex bathrooms, locker rooms, sports, etc. So it is appropriate for the Supreme Court to decide.

Theoretically, the Supreme Court would have to rule on whether the executive branch is executing the law in accordance with the intent of the legislative branch which passed it. And at the time of passage, there is no doubt that the legislators were legislating according to sex, NOT gender identity. But the executive branch is executing the law according to gender identity.

States will be forced to create their own legislation, contrary to the Feds, with the threat of withheld funds, refusal to participate in certain programs, and so on.

And I'm betting dollars to donuts that one or more of those states will be sued and it will still end up in the Supreme Court.

At the very very very very very least they would have had to have had a sex change operation imo.
